After losing her SmackDown Women's Championship to Ronda Rousey at WWE Extreme Rules, something odd happened with Liv Morgan. Not only did she smile as she was passing out to a submission hold that cost her the title, but she also laughed cryptically after the match as Rousey was leaving with the championship.
Morgan, for the most part, was dominated during the bout. While she tried to gain some momentum using a fire extinguisher and a bat, Rousey always seemed to have an answer and it was clear the Extreme Rules stipulation Morgan wanted was a mistake in strategy. It absolutely played into the hands of Rousey who beat Morgan decisively. Morgan had beaten Rousey twice before and it was obvious early on that a third win wasn't likely. It's not clear if that's why Morgan smiled as she was going under or the fact that she figured she might have been in Rousey's head, but Morgan's reaction was not normal. Her laughing after losing the belt was even odder.

When looked for backstage to comment on the loss, Morgan was found lurking in the shadows of the arena. She didn't say anything but looked sinister as she stared down Megan Morant. Again, she wasn't her typically bubbly and positive self.
Where Is WWE Going With This?
WWE is teasing a big shift for Morgan as far as her character goes. There was a time when Morgan first took a break from WWE that she would post teasers on her social media account and video of her sitting in the rain and doing other odd things. Perhaps WWE is going in that direction with her persona and it will be fascinating to see how far they take it. This has the potential to really put Morgan on the map in terms of her acting ability. If she can play an effective heel, this could be a big jump for her in WWE.
