Young Rock has been a relatively popular retelling of The Rock's life, now in its third season on NBC. Celebrated for the casting of its golden era wrestlers, not to mention Becky Lynch as Cyndi Lauper, the show paid its first proper visit to the Attitude Era last week. An exciting prospect for many who watch the show, but it seems quite a few fans who watched were less than impressed.
Young Rock's Attitude Era
While most of the casting for the show up until now has been spot on when it comes to picking actors, and in some cases actual wrestlers, to portray older stars, that same praise has not been extended to the show's Attitude Era casting. One shot, in particular, that shows Young Rock's Stone Cold and Undertaker drinking together at a bar has been highlighted countless times on social media over the weekend.

While indie wrestler Luke Hawx, the man playing Austin, has a passing resemblance to Stone Cold in the show, the casting for The Deadman could definitely be improved upon. Benefit of the doubt to NBC, and The Rock who helps create the show, as finding an actor who looks anything like The Undertaker must have been easier said than done.
Where's HBK?
Another segment from last week's episode that continues to receive attention for all the wrong reasons is a montage quickly introducing Austin, Undertaker, and other Attitude Era stars. While that period in wrestling remains known for being over the top, the montage arguably goes too far and has been accused of not accurately representing the Attitude Era. Not to mention the absence of Shawn Michaels, something a few fans have chalked up to the supposed issues between HBK and Rock.
Last but not least, the infamous Rock Concert was included in the episode too, and fans took issue with that as well. Not because of the casting, but because of The Rock's look. Uli Latukefu, who plays The Rock on the show, has a full head of hair. Fans questioned how hard it would have been to pop the actor in a bald cap. Perhaps The People's Champ is more sensitive about his hair loss than he lets on.
