WWE has posted a five-year-old video of Britt Baker getting squashed by Nia Jax hours before the former competes for the AEW Women's Title.

There's an unwritten rule when it comes to competition between major companies. That number one should never acknowledge number two. It's why you'll often see Pepsi taking jabs at Coca-Cola, but rarely witness the reverse. It's also why Vince McMahon likely blows a gasket whenever one of his Superstars utters anything about AEW on WWE TV.

Tony Khan Calls Out WWE

AEW, on the other hand, takes shots at WWE all the time. None quite as overt as the one Tony Khan took on Friday, though. The AEW president taped a promo in response to rumors that WWE is attempting to build a working relationship with New Japan. Khan is understandably pretty peeved by the news since AEW has an active relationship with New Japan.

WWE would never record a promo like Khan, but it does appear to have taken a return shot at AEW via a clip posted on Instagram this weekend. The clip features a dominant performance from Nia Jax making her debut on Raw all the way back in 2016.  The clip feels like a shot at AEW because it features Britt Baker, long before the DMD ever signed with AEW since the match took place before the promotion even existed.

Britt Baker Is Ready For Double Or Nothing

Although neither the clip nor the caption mentions Baker by name, its appearance on WWE's social media feels a little coincidental. Not only hours after Khan's promo went live, but the day before Baker will challenge for the Women's Championship. In fact, shortly after current champion Hikaru Shida celebrated one whole year with the title, it feels very much like tonight will be Baker's night.

There's a very real possibility whoever is in charge of WWE's Instagram account posted the clip with no ulterior motive in mind. That this is all one big coincidence. It's also possible that same person thought it would be amusing to dig up the clip for this weekend since Baker has come a long way since that match. Other than a dark match prior to the Mae Young Classic and a loss to Shayna Baszler in NXT, it's the only time Baker has ever wrestled in WWE.
