An impressive 33-year WrestleMania streak is set to end this weekend.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com pointed out that for the first time since WrestleMania IV, the "Show of Shows" won't have Triple H, Shawn Michaels or The Undertaker on the match card.

That streak remained intact last year when The Phenom faced AJ Styles in a "Boneyard match", which turned out to be the final bout of his illustrious career. Triple H wasn't on last year's card.

The Undertaker was absent on the WrestleMania 35 card, but The Game faced Batista in a No Holds Barred match to keep that streak going.

None of the three wrestling icons were wrestling in WWE during WrestleMania IV, which fell on March 27, 1988.

The streak began at WrestleMania V one year later, when Michaels and tag team partner Marty Jannetty (The Rockers) faced The Twin Towers (Akeem and Big Boss Man) in a losing effort.

Michaels retired from in-ring competition following his match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVI 11 years ago.

The Hall of Famer came back for one more bout eight years later at Crown Jewel 2018, where he and Triple H (reuniting as D-Generation X) defeated Kane and The Undertaker (wrestling as the Brothers of Destruction).

Michaels served as the special guest referee in the Undertaker-Triple H showdown at WrestleMania XXVIII. This match, billed as the "end of an era", saw The Undertaker emerge victorious to keep his WrestleMania streak perfect.

It Was Only A Matter Of Time

WWE usually likes to include several legends and part-timer performers for WrestleMania, but things are different this year. John Cena, Goldberg and Brock Lesnar usually make appearances, but barring any surprises, it looks like they'll be absent.

It's always possible that Undertaker, Michaels and/or Triple H appear in a non-wrestling capacity this weekend. But the impressive 33-year streak they pieced together has come to an end. WrestleMania 37 truly marks the end of an era.
