AEW President Tony Khan has confirmed that New Japan Pro Wrestling's Will Ospreay will be crossing through the 'Forbidden Door' on Wednesday night this week to compete on AEW Dynamite Road Rager.

Ospreay made a surprise appearance on AEW Dynamite last week as he led his United Empire faction to attack both FTR and Trent Beretta, with the build towards the upcoming AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event continuing.

The English wrestler did get the chance to compete for AEW this past Friday on AEW Rampage as he teamed up with Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis in a losing effort against FTR and Trent, but now he will be stepping into the ring as New Japan continues to have a presence on the AEW product.

Will Ospreay Is Competing On Wednesday Night

Ospreay might have been in action for AEW before, but Wednesday night will see him have his first-ever singles match for the company against none other than Dax Harwood. The FTR star has been having a strong year in terms of his performances, and this will pit him against one of the best in the world in Ospreay.

Both men have completely contrasting styles, which should be intriguing in terms of how they match up inside the ring, while it will continue the storyline that has been taking place between FTR and the United Empire in recent weeks.

It is set to be an action-packed episode of AEW Dynamite as Khan has put together a stacked lineup, which will see Chris Jericho and Santana compete in a hair vs. hair match, while Toni Storm will be in action against Britt Baker. The next qualifying match for the All-Atlantic Championship match takes place as Miro will face Ethan Page, and Wardlow competes against 20 security members.

The AEW Tag Team Championships will also be defended in a ladder match as Jurrasic Express faces The Young Bucks, with The Hardys having been taken out of this encounter due to Jeff Hardy's recent arrest.
