10 The Miz: Taking It More Serious
While there is always room for comedy in wrestling when it comes to the Money in the Bank briefcase, it is better off in the hands of someone more serious. The contract is an important part of WWE and has created some amazing moments in the past.
Otis was busy making funny moments, but The Miz will be a better holder. He is able to wind up the champions and showcase himself as a star, rather than doing things for a laugh, which is what should be happening with the briefcase from the start.
9 Otis: He's Entertaining
Even though Otis has spent most of his career simply being a comedic wrestler to this point, there is no denying the fact he's very entertaining. Everything that he does manages to win the fans over and that is what any great World Champion could do.
No matter what Otis has been involved in so far, he has managed to get the fans interested in him. The fact that he has been able to do that proves that he should have been given a chance to cash in the briefcase in order to prove himself.

There's no doubt that Otis winning the briefcase was a risk, and him being a World Champion would have been an even bigger one. That is clearly one that WWE wasn't willing to take, yet when it comes to The Miz, he's an established name.
Even though he's only had one World Title run in his career, Miz has always been involved in major storylines. Him having the briefcase is a safer option, but it's one that WWE knows will result in a good pay-off.
7 Otis: An Underdog Story
While Otis might be a powerhouse, he is a true underdog. Otis doesn't have the typical body of a World Champion and that's why fans loved him.
Nobody expected him to get the girl with Mandy Rose, but when he did, the WWE Universe loved it. That could have been the same with the World Championship because Otis is such a great underdog that fans can relate to.
6 The Miz: Stronger Promos
One of the big things that the Money in the Bank holder often has to be great at is cutting promos. Wrestlers tend to hold the briefcase for a while and because of that, they need to cut plenty of promos to keep the interest on them.

When it comes to the two men in question, there's no doubt that The Miz is stronger on the microphone. He is able to build a lot of interest in what he's doing and that will make the briefcase feel even more important.
5 Otis: Tough To Recover
Only once before has the Money in the Bank briefcase holder lost it before attempting to cash in, which was Mr. Kennedy. Sadly, he never recovered from that situation and that is a major worry that people now have about Otis.
He had reached a great spot in WWE, even if he wasn't always the most serious. However, now he's lost that briefcase, there is a big chance that Otis will end up being lost in the shuffle, especially without Tucker by his side anymore either, which is why he should have kept it.
4 The Miz: It Suits A Heel
Throughout WWE history there has been a variety of babyfaces and heels who have held the Money in the Bank briefcase. But it has always been the heels who have done a better job with it because holding the briefcase simply suits a heel better.
Being able to tease the champions is something that works better in the hands of an arrogant, cocky wrestler like The Miz. He can work this to his benefit and it will make him a much more exciting part of WWE's storylines.
3 Otis: Creating A New Main Event Star
While Otis winning the Money in the Bank briefcase was certainly something fans didn't expect to see, it had the potential to create a brand new main event star. That is what the Money in the Bank is supposed to be about, making new stars to keep the main event scene fresh.
Fans always want to see new names jump into the main event scene and Otis with the briefcase would have done that. Had he held onto the briefcase, Otis could have set himself up for being a main eventer for the years to come.
2 The Miz: He's Earned It
The fact that The Miz hasn't held the World Title since his original run when he cashed in is absolutely shocking. Miz is incredibly talented and when he works in a serious mood, few can engage an audience quite like him.

The Miz has put together some incredible work over the past few years and he has really earned another World Title run. Cashing in the briefcase will put him back to that level and after being one of WWE's most consistent performers, it's the least he deserves.

Right now, it is quite tricky for WWE to understand which wrestlers are truly over, but when the fans were last inside the arenas, Otis was one of the most popular people. The reason he won the briefcase in the first place is that he had huge momentum behind him.
It feels like WWE has completely forgotten about all of that, which is a huge shame. When fans return, Otis will no doubt connect with them yet again and that is why he should have kept the briefcase.
