Triple H was known early in his run as head of creative for bringing back stars he thought had a unique look and feel. These were names he felt WWE might have potentially dropped the ball on when they were released as part of the company's budget cuts and week after week, WWE popped them on television as surprise returns. One former star was among the many names hired back in November, but for some reason, he's not been used on programming.

That performer is Eric Young. He was a star in IMPACT Wrestling and a former member of the group Sanity in NXT. As per a report by Fightful Select, Young was indeed hired by WWE in November 2022, not long after Triple H took over the creative. For some unknown reason, he's not made his way back to programming and further reports note that there's no word of him being seen backstage either. It is unknown what his role in WWE currently is, or if he's providing any value (we assume he's doing some kind of work) since being rehired.

There were rumors that perhaps Young would be involved in the Bray Wyatt storyline and there was a fan theory that his voice was heard during a Wyatt promo. Whether he was Uncle Howdy or was going to play another member of Wyatt's crazy cast of characters was unknown, but many assumed he would be involved before Wyatt mysteriously disappeared from WWE television ahead of WrestleMania 39. Since then, there has been no word of Wyatt's storyline or the Uncle Howdy character. It's not clear where that stands and if Young was involved, how that affects him.

Will WWE Find Something For Him?

At this point, WWE may be best served to use him as a producer or road agent of sorts. He's got a wealth of experience he can share with the locker room. Until such time as they find him a character to play, what he'll be doing moving forward is unclear.
