In a chat with Interview, Lourdes Leon revealed that she grew up with a very strict set of rules, including not being allowed to watch TV. "The list of things I wasn't allowed to do was never-ending," she told Interview, which led her to want to branch out on her own and spread her wings as soon as she graduated from high school. She even paid for her own college tuition.
"We don't get any handouts in my family. Obviously, I grew up with extreme privilege," Leon said (via Interview). "There's no denying that. But I think my mom saw all these other kids of famous people, and she was like, 'My kids are not going to be like this.'" She added" Also, I feel like if your parents pay for things, then it gives them leverage over you. My mom is such a control freak, and she has controlled me my whole life."
