Prince William and Kate Middleton also have the Tam-Na-Ghar cottage at the 50,000-acre Balmoral estate in Scotland. This three-bedroom home was given to the prince by his grandmother, and this couple has been coming here since they were university students. Even so, it is very private — so much so that there are very few images of it at all (via The Sun).

The royal family vacations at Balmoral in Scotland, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge opt for the cottage rather than the main castle, since, according to Vanity Fair, "it can get quite busy at what they call 'the big house.'"

Balmoral was acquired by Prince Albert in 1852, and it has 150 buildings, including cottages like Tam-Na-Ghar. These cottages were added by Queen Victoria and also include The Garden Cottage, which she used when eating breakfast and writing. Plus, when royals aren't here, some of the cottages can be rented (via 9Honey).
