Though the competition on The Challenge: All Stars season 3 is heating up, the rumors about cast members Jonna Mannion and MJ Garrett having an affair are generating even more buzz. Though Jonna has competed on all three seasons of All Stars, MJ was part of the cast starting on All Stars 2. The two were paired up throughout All Stars 2, and their individual skills and exceptional teamwork led them to victory.
Now, the duo is back on All Stars 3, and though they’re competing individually, it’s clear that Jonna and MJ are allies who would love to run the final together for a second time. So far the two have played a savvy game and have remained in the competition. MJ has been the subject of several sabotages from castmates, but both have won an elimination challenge, earning them two stars apiece. However, their gameplay on The Challenge isn’t the only thing that their fellow competitors and fans are talking about.
In a recent episode, cast member Beth Stolarczyk claimed that Jonna was “cheating on her husband with MJ,” and cited that as her reason for not trusting her in the game. Jonna refuted Beth’s claims and went head-to-head with her in an elimination challenge to prove her point. But this isn’t the first time that rumors have circulated about MJ and Jonna being romantically involved. The two seemed very close throughout All Stars 2, and it made many viewers suspicious. The Challenge blogger GamerVev cryptically tweeted “if you want to end your relationship—go on All Stars,” and later clarified that they were referring to MJ and Jonna specifically.
Though the two Challenge champions insist they're just friends and sometimes teammates, fans have their doubts. Many think the duo share a bond that goes beyond friendship and believe they are having an affair. However, it makes sense that Jonna and MJ developed a close relationship—they not only competed together as a team on All Stars 2, but as the season’s champions, the pair spent even more time together giving interviews and promoting the show. Jonna still seems to be happily married, so her husband must have taken his wife’s word that the cheating rumors were false. MJ’s relationship status with his wife is a little less clear, and she doesn’t appear anywhere on his Instagram account.
Jonna and MJ obviously work well together, so it’s no surprise that many Challenge viewers, and fellow competitors, suspect that the champions are more than friends. But though there is evidence that points to them having an affair, there is also ample evidence to suggest that their relationship is platonic. If the pair had gotten physical on the show, the cameras probably would have caught it. And even if MJ and Jonna had an affair off the show, it’s unlikely that their significant others would have stuck by them. It’s impossible to say for sure whether the cheating rumors are true or false, but perhaps the rest of The Challenge: All Stars season 3 will provide some definitive answers.
