Professional Background
Scott Mullen, MD FAAOS is an associate professor of orthopedic surgery, in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, a Team Physician for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals, sports medicine consultant for the University of Kansas Athletics Department, and a team physician for several local high schools. He is also a Program Director for the Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas. He then went on to the University of Kansas School of Medicine and received his MD degree. He completed orthopedic residency at the University of Kansas as well. He completed his sports medicine fellowship at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Denver, CO.
Dr. Mullen’s clinical practice is focused in Orthopedic Sports Medicine. He treats conditions of the shoulder, hip, and knee. He is a faculty member for the Sports Medicine Student Honors Program for the KUMC School of Medicine. He has been the Director of the University of Kansas Health System Symposium for Sports Medicine for the last 4 years.
Dr. Mullen's research interest is sports related injury, injury prevention, and sports performance.
