Rob Van Dam reveals whether he has been in contact with anyone in AEW, and how much more he earns now compared to his time in WWE.

Although AEW claims to be in the business of offering up something different to WWE's product, it isn't afraid to sign and use legends if and when it can. Sting is signed to a long-term contract and might well wrestle, and Chris Jericho was the promotion's first World Champion. Not to mention DDP, Billy Gunn, Arn Anderson, and a handful of others.

AEW has been criticized for signing so many older wrestlers. However, it is also doing a good job of building new talent. 18 months ago, the wider wrestling world had never heard of wrestlers like Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy. As long as the older signees continue putting over and making stars out of the younger stars, AEW will be setting itself apart from WWE.

Chances are we will see another older star or two join up with AEW in 2021. One Hall of Famer even thinks Brock Lesnar would show up if the price was right. A far more realistic get for Tony Khan and co. would be someone like Rob Van Dam. However, the former WWE and ECW Champion revealed to Thibaud Chopin that he is yet to talk to anyone in AEW about signing with the company.

"I’m not in talks with Chris Jericho or anyone in AEW. I’m all about the money," RVD explained. Well, if that's the case, AEW might well be the perfect landing spot for him. Not only does the Khan family have a lot more money than the McMahons, but a lot of those signed to AEW claim to be on very good money. Jericho and Jim Ross have even said their AEW contracts are the best of their careers.

RVD also revealed that he currently makes 20 to 30 times as much for one match now as he did at his lowest when signed to WWE. Revelations like that are becoming less and less surprising. Former NXT Superstar Cezar Bononi recently revealed that he was earning so little when he first signed with WWE that he couldn't even afford a TV.
