The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey recently sued her ex-husband Peter Thomas for $170k. Now, he's sharing how "hurt" he is by it.

Peter Thomas and fans were shocked to learn of Cynthia Bailey's $170k lawsuit against her ex-husband. Now, Peter is speaking out about his legal battle with The Real Housewives of Atlanta star.

RHOA fans watched as Cynthia and Peter got married and divorced during their time together on the show. After getting married underneath a dinosaur fossil at a museum, the couple spent the years together sharing their ups and downs on the hit reality show. Financial struggles, foreclosed businesses, and communication issues were ultimately what led to their split in 2016. The following year, the couple finalized their divorce and has remained pretty amicable since their public breakup. However, after getting married to her second husband, Mike Hill, in October, Cynthia finally decided to go after Peter for the hundreds of thousands of dollars she loaned him years before.

Recently, news broke about a lawsuit the Bravo star launched against her first husband. Cynthia reportedly sued Peter for payment on a $170k loan she gave him for their former Bar One nightclub. Fans of the show will remember the business being closed in season six after the building manager reportedly foreclosed on the property holding the bar and Cynthia's modeling school. At the time, Peter asked his wife for the loan on the grounds he would be reopening the business at another location. However, years later, and Bar One has never reopened and Peter hasn't returned his ex-wife's money. Now, he's addressing the lawsuit and sharing his thoughts on the matter. “When I found out that Cynthia is suing me for $170,00, I’m like ‘Cynthia got my phone number, my number [has] never changed,'” he told Straight From The A.

He went on to explain how blindsided he was by the lawsuit. “We don’t have no dispute that I know of for her not to even pick up the phone and call me." As a result, Peter shared how painful the reality was for him. “I was hurt when she did that,” the restaurateur admitted. He went on to note how he could've gone after the money they made together appearing on RHOA. But he said he never wanted “anything from her.” The former Bravo star explained that during their divorce proceedings, he agreed to buy back the property from Cynthia at the full cost. However, it was on the grounds he would give it to her “36 months after the deed is transferred to my name, not before.”

After agreeing to “write [her] a check for $170,000" within 36 months of “the 23rd of February, 2018,” that means the deadline would be “this coming February.” However, Peter ended on a positive note confirming he has no quarrels with his ex.  “I don’t have beef with Cynthia, I think we have one of the most amicable divorces in the history of reality TV.”
