No one is more physically imposing in WWE than Omos. At 7'3" and 400 pounds, the Nigerian giant is the type of wrestler Vince McMahon loved to promote. Even with him (mostly) out of creative, Omos still gets pushed as a big attraction by Triple H. Fans have been quick to criticize him online, commenting on his greenness and slow, methodical pace. There was confusion and a lot of mockery when it was announced that he would be facing Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 39, and again, when out of nowhere, it was revealed that he'd face Seth Rollins at the upcoming Backlash. WWE obviously believes in him and is ignoring the backlash from fans.
In an interview with SHAK Wrestling, Omos spoke about the negative reaction he receives from WWE fans on social media. “I just gotta perform for me. As long as (the crowd) enjoys it, I see everything (about me) online… but at the end of the day all you gotta do is go out, perform, and make them shut up.” Bringing up the example of his match with Braun Strowman last year at Crown Jewel, Omos added, “I remember all the doubters before we went out there and had that good match that we did. Sometimes you just gotta show that you are who you are.” (h/t Wrestletalk)

Many Inside WWE Have Great Things To Say About Omos
Some of Omos' criticism comes from the wrestling era we are in. If this was the 1980s, he would be a giant star, but today, with fans wanting more high paced and high-flying action, Omos' style can come off as boring. Still, people in WWE love the Nigerian giant and have spoken out about it. Road Dogg recently said that he thinks Omos has more of an upside than Andre the Giant, and The Undertaker himself said in a recent interview,"I’m really high on Omos. He’s still developing that talent and my gosh what a great human being he is. Actually, I'm killing him off cause he’s a bad guy right now, but he is a really nice human being and he is a sponge, he wants to get better He wants to do all of the things that I look for when I see somebody that I really want to mentor." Omos was recently revealed to be a free agent during the WWE draft, meaning that for now at least, he can show up on either Raw and SmackDown to wreak havoc. This Saturday, May 6th, from Puerto Rico, Omos will take on Seth Rollins at Backlash, where he will get another chance to prove everyone wrong on just how talented he is.
