Alberto Del Rio might be suggesting he's garnered interest from WWE or that big wrestling companies want him back, but that's not what other sources are saying. Despite the fact Del Rio seems to believe he's got another run left in him in the wrestling industry, it doesn't sound like any of the major wrestling promotions want him to have that run under their umbrella.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, "I've spoken with people from WWE, MLW, Impact who say they either have no interest in bringing Del Rio in or would be shocked if it happens." He adds, "AEW talent I've spoken to say they've never heard him mentioned as even possibly coming in."

This report comes with a link to a post from Fernando Salazar that "In 2022, Alberto is back in one of the three main companies in the United States." It also comes on the heels of Del Rio saying in a press conference on Monday, "If I go to AEW, I’ll be world champion. If I go to WWE, I’ll be world champion. If I go to IMPACT, I’ll be world champion."

While recent charges against Del Rio have been dropped and legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter suggested "somebody's got to bring Alberto Del Rio back," Del Rio is likely not on the radar of any major wrestling companies, all of whom have no desire to go near such an unreliable talent and often volatile situation.

Wrestling Companies Don't Want Drama

Del Rio seems to have proven that even when his name isn't embroiled in controversy, it's only a matter of time before he works himself back into the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Companies like WWE and AEW aren't keen to take on PR issues and both rosters are doing just fine without him. Apter did admit, "I don't know if WWE would entertain that because people looking up his background, I don't think they will take a chance with him."

As for AEW, there are a number of better options out there on the free-agent market.
