Cody Rhodes appeared on Monday's episode of Raw and when asked about what he's got in store for 2023, mentioned that he didn't have another bout with Seth Rollins on his radar.

Monday's show was a best of 2022 review show and it included appearances by video of a number of current WWE Superstars. Rhodes was among them as his match at Wrestlemania 38 was featured as was his rivalry with Rollins. Rhodes was complimentary of Rollins and said he's in the top three of the best wrestlers in the world and noted that some fans are interested in seeing him wrestle Rollins again. He isn't too keen on the idea. Instead, he wants to pick up where he left off and that's moving on after three-straight wins over Rollins. The next step seems to be the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship.

Rhodes didn't specifically say he was going after the title, only that he was back in WWE for one reason and that everyone knows what it is. He also didn't clarify when he would be back, but it seems like his return might be sooner than later.

This Is Good News For WWE

As good as those matches between Rhodes and Rollins were, it's time for both to move on. Rumors circulated last week that a fourth match might be something WWE was planning, and maybe that's why he mentioned not wanting another bout. This could have been Cody's way of squashing that rumor in its tracks. Instead, Rhodes is suggesting he'll go after the company's biggest prize.

The cimplant needs Rhodes in that spot and a legitimate contender for the title. He is one of the few believable contenders that could dethrone Roman Reigns and that's important in order to move other storylines forward involving the championship.
