The Courtship's Nicole Rémy and Daniel Bochicchio got engaged on the season finale of the show. Now Nicole reveals that Daniel broke up with her.
Nicole Rémy and Daniel Bochicchio got engaged on the season finale of The Courtship but kept fans guessing post-show as they did not address their relationship until a week later when Nicole announced that Daniel had broken up with her. Nicole is a 26-year-old software engineer and former professional cheerleader for the Seattle Seahawks from Lakewood, Washington, who traveled to England to try to find love according to the customs of the Regency Era. When Nicole first met Daniel, or Danny B as she nicknamed him on the show, she felt an instant connection. There were literal fireworks on their first date after their first kiss.
However, Danny, a 31-year-old real estate agent from Staten Island, New York, expressed his doubts about getting engaged so quickly, even though he was developing real feelings for Nicole. Therefore, Nicole was shocked when Danny proposed to her on the season finale of The Courtship, and she happily accepted. But, after the finale aired, Nicole and Danny were silent about their relationship. Fans began to wonder if they had broken up. The following week, Nicole finally posted an update on social media about what happened post-show.
In an interview with E! News, Nicole revealed that "a little over a month after filming," Danny "officially" broke up with her. She said that she was "heartbroken" and that she "wanted nothing more than to spend my life with him, whereas Danny told me after the show wrapped that he felt differently about me, and no longer felt like I was the one." Although Danny was worried about the fast pace of the show, Nicole shared that she was "all-in" on her engagement and that there was "nothing else I wanted." She explained that when people date on shows such as The Courtship, "relationships progress so much more quickly than they would in real life. So although I was shocked, I was over the moon when he proposed."
Nicole went on to say that after filming ended, she and Danny brought their relationship into the real world, including traveling to Danny's hometown where she was able to meet his close family. Nicole shared that her time with him "was exactly the life I envisioned with him: easy, fun, and adventurous." She also admitted that before she watched the show, she never regretted picking Danny because she "was in love with him and I always knew he was the one. But after reliving this heartbreak all over again, I can't help to imagine doing things differently."
Danny told E! News that he had never planned to break up with Nicole. He shared that he "had a great experience on The Courtship, where I made new friends and got to know the incredible woman that Nicole is." He said that at the time of the proposal, he was "hopeful" that he and Nicole could make their relationship work in the real world. He explained, "It was never my intention to call off the engagement or hurt her, but unfortunately the realities of modern-day life caught up to me once I got home. I know this has been a difficult journey and I'm sorry it didn't end as we all had hoped. I wish Nicole nothing but the best as we both move forward, it is what she deserves."
Although The Courtship couple Nicole and Danny broke up, they do talk "every now and then." Nicole even admitted that, although she wants to move on, there are days when she wants Danny back in her life "because we did have so many happy times, and I want to feel that magic that we once shared." Nicole is still hopeful that she will find her true love even though she did not find him on The Courtship. With her kind heart and sweet demeanor, Nicole deserves to find true happiness and love.
