WWE high-flyer Montez Ford has surprisingly claimed to be afraid of heights.
The 32-year-old Raw star is now drawing comparisons to Rob Van Dam, one of the most acrobatic wrestlers to ever do it, yet he says he isn’t all that comfortable off the ground and has compared his fear of heights to Batman’s fear of bats.

You’d never be able to tell given the way Ford springs off of the top rope to hit opponents with the frog splash. Yet, speaking to Fightful in a recent interview, the Chicago native insisted he’s terrified with every jump.
"Yes. This is very true. I am afraid of heights," he said. "So Batman’s also one of my favorite superheroes and Batman’s actually afraid of bats. I thought it was the same way. I know me and Batman aren’t the same person, but you haven’t seen us in the same room. But I will say I’ve took on that role in the same way in that if you’re afraid of something, then maybe just keep tackling it every time. But, yeah, I’m terrified every time."
Asked if there was a particular frog splash he was worried about, he claimed to have been worried about every one.
"All of them,” he replied. “Because it’s so far up there. I’m just like, ‘Oh, man. I really pushed the button on this one.’ But it’s always a call back to as a kid. Used to pull out my grandmother’s mattresses from the basement, mattresses she didn’t use, and then we’d pull them out, put them in the yard and do frog splashes from the top on there. Wasn’t as [threatful] as it is now when you’ve got screaming fans and thirteen feet in the air, but that’s why I do it."

Ford’s wife, Bianca Belair, is the one who spilled the beans on the star’s fear of heights.
"Every time," she told said publication after being asked whether she worries about him when he makes his jumps. "You know what’s even more crazy? He’s scared of heights. So I know when he’s up there, he’s scared and so that makes me scared. So he goes even higher and I’m just like, ‘How is he not freaking out right now?’"
