Nearly 20 years since it opened its doors, City Club Hotel’s rich history, sumptuous rooms, Daniel Boulud restaurant DB Bistro Moderne in the lobby, and central location have proven powerful draws. To keep up with popular demand and accommodate an increasing number of visitors, permits have been filed for a vertical expansion that would double the 9-story building in size to 18 stories and 127 rooms. The permits were filed by Stonehill Taylor, the firm behind the updates at The Plaza, the New Yorker Hotel, and Ace Hotel, to name but a few high-profile hospitality projects. The nine additional floors will alll contain hotel rooms ranging from 4 to 9 suites per floor.
