Matt Cardona (formerly Zack Ryder in WWE) was having a field day on Twitter Thursday as he posted multiple photos in what appeared to be a tease that he might be headed back to WWE. Cardona has been away from the company for quite some time and has done well on the independent wrestling scene. But, recent rumors suggest WWE is interested in bringing Cardona back, along with his other half Chelsea Green. Reports vary from WWE being interested in anyone they see as talented that isn't on the WWE roster to the company specifically being interested in Cardona because of the relentless hard work he does to get over. From his YouTube presence way back in the day to his current wrestling figures podcast and his grind on the indie scene. Triple H is said to really appreciate Cardona's hustle and evident love of the industry.
Cardona did talk about a return to WWE in the past and noted that he'd be open to it but would likely never bring the Zack Ryder character back. While speaking to NotSam Wrestling a while back, Cardona said he had a condition if he was to ever return. He explained, “I would have a conversation. I’m not saying we haven’t already. Who’s to say who’s to say? I think Zack Ryder is dead. Would it be cool? A woo woo, would that get a bigger pop maybe for one night as opposed to ‘Alwayz ready’? Maybe, because that’s more familiar with the WWE Universe and audience. But if I were to go back, I think it has to be as Matt Cardona. If I say like, you know, Razor Ramon came back as Scott Hall.”
Cardona's Pics Just Fueling the Fire
He posted multiple shots of his time in WWE. Some samples included a pic alongside Hugh Jackman, as well as another with John Cena. His photo with Triple H is getting the most attention and it will be fascinating to see if he's just having fun with fans because he's up to speed on all the rumors, or if this is something that might actually be going down.
