It's tough to be an extra in WWE. Security accidentally mistook the marriage officiant in the Lana and Lashley segment for a fan and tackled him. To make matters worse, WWE aired it on television.

It's not as though this was the first time WWE hired this particular marriage officiant to work Raw. In fact, his segment was the most-watched segment on YouTube for WWE with millions of viewers tuning in and many of the viewers poking fun at his expense. That said, security clearly didn't know he was part of the program.

Whether or not this was WWE security or the arena's security is unclear but two men in suits tackled the poor actor as he tried to get into the ring for his segment that followed the AJ Styles victory and taunting of Randy Orton. You can see footage of the video below (watch until the end):

As you can tell, the announcers were thrown for a loop as well.

Realizing there was a serious miscommunication issue or it was just that WWE's policy is not to show footage of fans entering a ring, WWE quickly cuts away from the from action. But, not after there was already egg on the company's face.

Clearly, the actor was fine and proceeded to play his role in the following segment, officially marrying Lana and Lashley in the moments that followed.

Not Typically The Kind of Oops WWE Does

If anything, WWE is pretty good about having their ducks in a row. But, things aren't always perfect.

The last time this type of snafu happened, it was WrestleMania where a security guard was not aware Rob Gronkowski was supposed to hop the railing and enter the Battle Royal. You'd think after something like that, producers would make sure no one tackled the poor guy.

That said, why would WWE assume security would target a poor old man in a suit with a clipboard who was free to walk around? Some are suggesting this was work. I don't see it, but who knows.
