Some wrestlers go for a full makeover in one shot. Others barely change anything over a long and storied career. The rest take a more careful approach, changing small things as time goes by. Apparently, Kevin Owens fits into that last group.

Fans may have noticed that Owens has made some subtle changes to his ring attire lately. He says there's a reason, but it's kind of hilarious. Noting that he's going for a certain look, he doesn't want to shock people when he jumps from one set of ring attire to another too quickly.

In his Survivor Series qualifying match on Friday, Owens was seen wearing jeans instead of shorts. This is now the second week he's worn street clothes in a match. Owens took to Twitter after the show to explain to fans why he was going with the new look. When asked why he wants to wrestle in jeans now, he jokingly wrote:

“One of the most successful wrestlers of all time wore jorts for most of his career. I’m trying to subtly get there. First, I wear shorts for years. Then I wear jeans for years. Then, one day, BOOM! JORTS! Except this way, nobody notices anything out of the ordinary when I do.”

He didn't potentially give an honest answer as to whether or not he was going to stick with the jeans, but if he does, he should stick with this reasoning, even if it isn't true. It's the perfect answer, especially considering he's already grabbed his finisher from another star and is using Stone Cold Steve Austin's Stunner in matches now. Not only that, but Owen's son adores Cena while Owen's has had a tumultuous relationship with the former WWE star. It's the perfect way to honor the man while giving him the middle finger.

Owens Is Always Looking To Stay In The Picture

Owens once admitted the reason he asked Austin if he could use the Stunner was to stay relevant. Knowing half the people would hate it and half would love it, he knew people would talk about it. That's what he wanted.

The jeans, and hopefully, eventually, the Jorts is another example of this. You know everyone would be talking about the fact he's wearing the same look Cena made famous.
