He immediately targeted AJ Styles, but The Phenomenal One was aiming to Styles Clash Owens. However, Owens refused to let that happen and he superkicked Styles and eliminated him to a chorus of boos. As expected, Owens was in no physical shape to last the course and his rival Sami Zayn ended his quest of winning the WWE Title.

Fans were mesmerized at the brilliance that both men brought to the table. Cena utilized a Moonsault which isn't in his usual repertoire. It was a memorable debut, and both men kicked out of each other's respective finishers. Ultimately, Owens caught Big Match John with a Pop-Up Powerbomb for a monumental victory.

Owens and Ambrose tore the house down, and The Lunatic Fringe wore Owens down with some vicious kendo stick shots to the back. Ambrose pulled out all of the stops to keep Owens at bay. Both men went through tables but Ambrose retained the Intercontinental Title after pushing Owens off the top rope.
