When Kenny Omega showed up on AEW Dynamite this week and sporting a new look, it drew a lot of attention. Some suggested it was a stab at or an ode to Triple H. Others figured it was an homage to Motorhead’s Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister. It was neither.

When the photos and videos from the show started making the rounds on social media, fans tried to guess why Omega went with the new look and what inspired it. One fan got it right when they said it reminded them of Harley Race.

Omega responded. He wrote: "Ding ding ding! Tbh, HHH never crossed my mind. Totally forgot about that phase in his career."

It certainly makes sense that Omega would pay homage to such a legend of the business. Wrestlers tend to do that from time to time and Race was among the very best. As for why Omega decided to go with a Harley Race look or what close attachment he has to the legend, that's not entirely clear.

The reason why may not matter nor not stop people from poking fun at Omega, suggesting he was going for a certain look and wound up getting compared to The Game during one of his lesser-effective runs in WWE.

At that time Triple H's career, he was very close with Lemmy from Motorhead and the band had recorded two of Triple H's entrance songs. Logic would suggest he was paying tribute to the man.

Omega Finding New Ways To Be a Heel

One of the oldest tricks in the book when you're a heel is to come out with a new look every once and a while. It catches people's attention and gets them talking. In that respect, Omega certainly succeeded. Many are talking more about his appearance than his potential challenger.
