Former NXT and WWE star Johnny Gargano says he's ready to return to the ring. After leaving NXT and taking some time away with his family to be there for the birth of his first child, he's now ready to return to the industry he loves and wrestle for promotions interested in booking him.

He took to social media today and posted that he decided to let his contract with WWE expire because he wanted to be a free agent. Part of it is that he wanted as much time off as he thought he'd need. He also said he wanted, "The freedom to selectively pick and choose the things I want to do for a bit." He added, "That said... here's my contact for potential appearances, business inquiries, etc.": He posted his personal email to accept bookings and hinted that he's ready to get back down to work. As a joke, he also posted a photo of his dog and noted, "My publicist/manager is ready to promptly respond to your emails. Thank you."

No doubt, this will open the floodgates of speculation as to where Gargano will wind up. Many believe he's destined for AEW, but there's some talk WWE wouldn't mind having him back, especially if he's open to working with NXT more.

Where Will Gargano Wind Up?

Gargano could have some great matches in AEW and Adam Cole has said he'd love to bring him in, but there's certainly an argument that AEW is flooded with talent and Gargano might get lost in the shuffle. The way AEW has booked Cole to this point has been underwhelming for fans and it would be a shame if Gargano was in a place where his talents weren't utilized properly. Perhaps a company like IMPACT could be on his radar.

He might tour around the indies for a while too.
