The Joe Rogan Experience was the top podcast of the year globally in 2023, marking its fourth consecutive year in that position, according to Spotify Wrapped data released Wednesday. 

Wrapped, which analyzes listening data in 2023 about the most-streamed artists and podcasts on the platform, also saw Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy (which, like Joe Rogan’s, is exclusive to Spotify) retain its second place spot on the global list, while Dr. Andrew Huberman’s science podcast, Huberman Lab, jumped to third. Emma Chamberlain’s podcast, Anything Goes, which became exclusive to Spotify in 2023 and placed third last year, came in fourth. On Purpose with Jay Shetty, which recently inked an ad sales deal with iHeartMedia, rounded out the global list in fifth place.

The U.S. podcast list also saw Ashley Flowers’ true crime series Crime Junkie, This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von and The New York Times’ podcast The Daily rounding out the top five, with Rogan and Cooper again in first and second place.

Hot Mess with Alix Earle, which launched in September, was named as the most anticipated global podcast launch by a U.S. creator, followed by Trevor Noah’s podcast, which launched in November, and Strike Force Five, the limited podcast launched by late night hosts during the writers’ strike.

Amid her worldwide Eras Tour and the re-release of her albums, including Speak Now and 1989, Taylor Swift became the most-streamed artist globally, with more than 26.1 billion global streams since Jan. 1, taking the spot from Bad Bunny, who came in second place this year. The Weeknd came in third place, followed by Drake and Peso Pluma. 

This year Spotify Wrapped includes new user features, such as sound town, which matches the listener to a city based on shared listening habits, as well as video messages from a user’s top artists, including Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, SZA and Dolly Parton, within the user’s personalized Wrapped.
