According to a recent report, JBL -- who was most recently working with Baron Corbin as a mentor/manager on Monday Night Raw -- will no longer be appearing on the company's weekly programming. This past Monday he dumped Corbin after another disappointing loss and told him "You can't polish a turd." The hint was that the two might be done or that the WWE Hall of Famer was waiting for Corbin to step up his game and be worthy of JBL as his manager. It appears it's the former.

PWInsider is reporting that JBL will not be seen on WWE programming going forward. His partnership with Corbin is now done and even if Corbin gets repackaged and comes back with a different gimmick, JBL will not be part of the new presentation. It wasn't made clear if this version of Corbin was deemed a failed experiment and that's why WWE is moving on or if it was never in the plans that JBL would be working with Corbin long-term. His role as a manager might have been temporary from the start, but if Corbin had found success as the next "wrestling god", perhaps things could have been different.

Baron Corbin dumped by JBL WWE Raw

JBL took Corbin on as a project after Corbin hit rock bottom. He'd lost several matches against opponents like Drew McIntyre and Pat McAfee. Then, when he split from Madcapp Moss and lost again, he was seen hopping into JBL's limo and came back a few weeks later. Not much had changed. He just had a mentor to help him. It didn't help.

What Happens With Corbin Now?

Without JBL, it's likely Corbin comes back with something entirely different than what WWE tried to do over these past few months. He needs a new look and a new attitude and going with the rich guy gimmick might be a thing of the past.
