According to sources, WWE is planning another WWE Draft soon. The 2022 version of the traditional shifting of talent from one brand to another is set to take place sometime between August and September of this year, and as reported by Ringside News, they believe the plans are set on WWE's internal calendar for September.

In the past, the WWE Draft has been moved around to accommodate changes in creative, storylines, and scheduling. The dates for the 2021 Draft were changed a few times and many behind the scenes seem to understand that this could happen again. That said, the plan is to hold a WWE Draft and shake up the rosters. A second report from The Wrestling Observer notes that might make a shift to hold the WWE Draft immediately following SummerSlam on July 30, 2022. What seems to be clear is that WWE has not finalized a date but that somewhere around SummerSlam and WWE Clash at The Castle event on September 3 is the timeframe.

This will be earlier than last year's Draft which took place in October.

The WWE Draft has been hit and miss in recent years. In some cases WWE has made big changes, moving massive names from Raw to SmackDown or SmackDown to Raw. The networks have gotten involved over the years because of the ratings that come with certain performers. This year, with Roman Reigns currently holding both the WWE Championship and The Universal Championship, the biggest name on the roster doesn't need to move. So too, if WWE unifies more titles, one of the biggest criticisms of the WWE Draft won't be an issue. Fans have always hated the fact that titleholders will switch brands and simply trade belts. If the tag titles and heavyweight belts are unified, only the United States Championship and Intercontinental Title might move around.

Who Should Go?

Assuming WWE does hold another draft, who should move? Are there faces on either brand that would welcome a fresh start elsewhere and a new coat of paint? There's usually at least one or two stars that come out of the draft with an opportunity they wouldn't have otherwise gotten if they'd stayed put.
