Espeon is one of the best Psychic-type Pokémon that players can get in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, either by catching it or evolving an Eevee.
One of the best Psychic-type Pokémon that players can get in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is Espeon, one of the eight different evolutions of Eevee. Though Espeon was introduced in Pokémon Silver and Pokémon Gold, it continues to be a fan favorite for both its power and sleek design. Unlike the majority of Eevee evolutions, Espeon is based on a cat, specifically a supernatural spirit with a forked tail from Japanese folklore.
Much like Umbreon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Espeon happens to be one of the easier evolutions of Eevee that players can get. Although Espeon and Umbreon were introduced in the same games, the two Pokémon are the exact opposite of one another. Umbreon is known for its incredibly bulky defense stats and slower movement speeds, whereas Espeon is a highly offensive Pokémon that suffers from low Defense and HP stats. Fortunately, Espeon's Speed and Special Attack stats can often defeat opponents with a one-hit knockout attack, though it will most likely lose to Ghost-, Bug-, and Dark-type Pokémon in a battle.
If players are looking to get an Espeon as soon as possible in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, they'll first have to catch Eevee. Finding and catching Eevee in Pokémon Legends: Arceus can prove to be a challenge early on, as it has an extremely rare spawn rate in the Obsidian Fieldlands. To find Eevee, players will need to travel to Horseshoe Plains, the same area where Ponyta and Alpha Rapidash can be found. If Eevee isn't found right away, players can try catching or defeating as many Pokémon as they can find in the area, then sleep until the next morning to see which Pokémon respawn. Alternatively, returning to Jubilife Village and then back to the Obsidian Fieldlands will also force all Pokémon in the Horseshoe Plains to respawn. Eevee are skittish Pokémon, so players must approach them silently in order to catch them in Legends: Arceus.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus - How To Find (& Catch) Espeon, Or Evolve Eevee
Espeon is also one of the Pocket Monsters that can be found and captured inside of the Space-Time Distortion zones in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, though its only location is the Alabaster Icelands. Espeon aren't guaranteed to spawn in every Space-Time Distortion, but fortunately, Eevee can be found in the same Space-Time Distortions, as well as the Alabaster Icelands itself. To evolve Eevee into Espeon, players need to make sure that its Friendship Level is high and that it's daytime when they try to evolve it. Additionally, Eevee cannot know a Fairy-type move, otherwise, it will evolve into Sylveon.
Espeon actually has a pretty incredible moveset, as it can learn Psychic, Shadow Ball, Dazzling Gleam, and Calm Mind in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Calm Mind will allow Espeon to raise its Special Attack and Special Defense stats, boosting all three of the other moves. If Espeon uses a Calm Mind as an Agile Style move in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, it may be able to attack again with the boosted stats before any opponents. For that reason, Espeon is well worth getting as soon as possible in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
