The independent scene of professional wrestling has been home to some of the most talented competitors in the current landscape of the industry. Initially going by the name Allie Kat, she changed her name in 2021 in order to expand her character. Katch made her professional debut in the Summer of 2015, wrestling for various different small, independent promotions. From that point until 2021, she had used the name “Allie Kat.” Her gimmick for years was acting like a cat. However, she eventually decided to move away from her cat character towards the current gimmick she has today. In an interview with Fightful, Katch said, “"It makes me think more. You can’t rest on your laurels. Yeah, alright I do the scratch thing, rub my belly thing, yada yada, one, two, let’s go home. I was having fun as a cat, but I feel like I’m having more fun because I’m having to try harder. Then also it’s cool to do stuff that people don’t expect you to do. Now I also try to jump off of high things, too.”
Allie Katch Makes A Major Mark In GCW
Throughout her career, Katch has wrestled in numerous independent promotions. She has even made appearances in Impact Wrestling and AEW. However, the promotion in which fans have truly seen Katch become the wrestler that she is today is GCW. In GCW, Katch has faced the names of Taya Valkyrie, Maki Itoh, Chelsea Green, Jordynne Grace, and more. In addition, Katch has also participated in numerous intergender bouts, famously wrestling Nick Gage in a Texas Deathmatch.

Katch has also proved to be a very successful tag team wrestler as well. Alongside Effy, the duo make up the extremely popular tag team of BUSSY. Together, they have accomplished a tremendous amount of success. The duo defeated The Briscoe Brothers to win the GCW Tag Team Titles. They had a lengthy reign, which saw them defend their titles against numerous teams. BUSSY also feuded with Matt Cardona and Chelsea Green.
In addition, Katch has also praised GCW allowing her, and other wrestlers in the LGBTQ+ community, to freely express themselves. In an interview with The Dallas Morning News, she said, “It’s given me the confidence to know that I can stand up to things that aren’t right anymore.” She has competed at all six of Effy’s Big Gay Brunch shows in GCW.
Allie Katch Has Garnered Praise From Across The Wrestling Industry
As stated before, Katch has garnered a lot of praise from those in the wrestling industry, from veterans of the industry like Mickie James to her contemporaries like Jordynne Grace. In 2022, Katch was a handpicked opponent by Grace to wrestle Masha Slamovich in a Monster’s Ball match on Impact Wrestling. Grace said of Katch on WrestleZone (h/t Yardbarker), “I was very happy for her to finally be getting something like that on such a grand stage.” Mickie James, who faced Allie Katch in GCW, said of her in an SEScoops interview, “I really, really like Allie Katch, and I think that she's really presented herself and found her niche and her home there, which is GCW.”
Independent wrestling is essential to professional wrestling. Over the years, fans have seen some of the biggest stars today get their starts on the independent scene. Allie Katch is undoubtedly one of the best of this generation of independent talent. In a relatively short amount of time, she has already done an incredible amount, facing legends of the past, talent of the present, and names that will be big in the future. She has shown how truly talented she is through the matches that she has competed in. In addition, she also showed that her willingness to evolve her character has paid off greatly. All of this has garnered the respect of her peers and fans alike.
Allie Katch is certainly one of the names to watch in professional wrestling. Having already done so much, there is still an incredible amount left for her to do. Already getting some exposure in the form of AEW and Impact Wrestling, and doing great things in GCW, there are big things in the future for Allie Katch's career.
