Recently released WWE Superstar Heath Slater made a surprise return on Monday Night RAW when he was introduced by Dolph Ziggler and confronted the WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, leading to a match and a reunion with the Scottish champ.

But what is Slater's WWE status after this? He was, after all, released with a whole bunch of other Superstars at the start of April. But could his appearance on RAW be a sign that WWE are looking to bring him back? Especially as they've done so with others like Drake Maverick recently.
Well it seems that despite reports that WWE are bringing back some of their released staff, that Heath Slater is more than likely not going to be one of them, as Sportskeeda's Gary Cassidy confirms,
Following Heath Slater's appearance on WWE RAW last night, there have been a lot of questions raised regarding the future of the former Tag Team Champion - with his non-compete clause due to expire in a week. Well, sources have indicated to me that Heath Slater's future does indeed lie away from WWE, as well as confirming an appearance set for Slater.
Gary confirms that Slater's RAW appearance may very well be a one-off as his no-compete clause is up soon and he's already slated (get it) to have an appearance at Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson's new project, who were released at the same time as him.
Sources have indicated to me that Slater was present at recent Talk N'Shop A-Mania tapings, and is scheduled to appear during Gallows and Anderson's August 1st extravaganza!
While this doesn't necessarily rule out Slater's return to the WWE in the future it does indicate that for the mean time, at least in the short term, Slater is making the most of his free-agency to wrestle in different places.
Slater's RAW appearance did come across as a send-off of sorts with his confronted McIntyre for leaving friends behind before losing in a squash match to him and then getting rescued by him after Dolph Ziggler attacked.
Slater is the last member of 3MB to leave WWE, but with both Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre returning to become world champions there's every chance we could see Slater again down the line!
