During the New York Attorney General Letitia James' fraud lawsuit against Trump and the Trump Organization, Allen Weisselberg, the former finance chief of Trump's company, maintained his innocence in his testimony. As a consequence, Judge Arthur Engoron ordered the appointment of a court-appointed receiver to assume control of some Trump companies, raising questions about the future oversight of Trump Tower and other prominent Trump properties. An appeals court later temporarily halted the enforcement of this aspect of Engoron's ruling.
