Despite the changing attitudes towards cannabis, the stigma surrounding it still persists in some areas. This is especially true when it comes to public sponsorships of cannabis-related products, such as a cannabis company sponsoring a NASCAR Cup Series team. Such is the case for Kyle Busch when it comes to his 3Chi sponsorship. Recently, during a press conference ahead of the Daytona 500, Busch made a hilarious comment about his nickname.
Talking about RCR driver’s one-liners, journalist Jeff Gluck mentioned, “Kyle Busch brought one-liners today. On his 3Chi sponsorship: ‘I went from the Candy Man to the Adult Candy Man.’“

Before joining Richard Childress Racing, Busch was knowns as the “Candy Man.” This was because of his previous sponsor, M&M’s logos all over his #18 Camry. However, with him now being associated with a cannabis product brand, it seems that he would prefer to be addressed as the “Adult Candy Man.”
Now, 3Chi isn’t exactly a cannabis company per se. They do not conduct research on and produce the high-inducing cannabis. Rather, they work on the compound CBD, which is extracted from the same plant. This compound unlike THC has several medical benefits and does not get you high.

Conversations surrounding Cannabis and its medicinal benefits have been mired in controversies for many years. Despite it being legalized for medical or recreational use in various states and countries, it still carries a negative stigma in some parts of the world. This stigma can be traced back both to its abuse as an addictive substance as well as decades of misinformation and propaganda.
However, 3Chi doesn’t exactly market the high-inducing compound, but rather, medicinal CBD derived from it. And for many, it makes sense to have them onboard as sponsors.
