WCW had its ups and downs in 1993. There were some great things like Vader's World Title run and the return of Ric Flair, but there were also some lousy moments that featured meaningless storylines and stupid gimmicks. The company had a solid roster, with wrestlers like Sting, Paul Orndorff, Arn Anderson, Dusty Rhodes, Rick Rude, among others.

As for the PPV events, there were seven, of which only two were outstanding. The rest were average or disappointing. There were great matches and memorable moments, but there were also booking decisions that confused fans. Let's take a look at every WCW PPV from 1993.

7 BattleBowl

WCW BattleBowl 1993

The BattleBowl concept wasn't bad, but making a PPV exclusively for that was a mistake. Eight tag team matches, none were outstanding, but a couple were terrible, and most were predictable, to make matters worse.

The Battle Royal, on the other hand, was fun to watch, some eliminations made sense, the final part was intense and unpredictable, and the winner (Vader) felt like the right choice. So, this PPV closed in a good way thanks to the Battle Royal, but that couldn't save the PPV from the pile of forgettable tag team matches. That's why BattleBowl was the worst WCW PPV of 1993.

6 Slamboree

Vader vs. Davey Boy Smith

Slamboree 1993 started with a good tag team match, but then we had several mediocre matches. Sting defeated The Prisoner in a terrible match, Sid Vicious crushed Van Hammer, and Dory Funk Jr. and Nick Bockwinkel had a time limit draw, which felt too long.

Fortunately, the final stretch of the PPV was good. The Hollywood Blondes Brian Pillman and Steve Austin defeated Ricky Steamboat and The Z-Man in a Steel Cage match, which was the highlight of the PPV. Barry Windham and Arn Anderson delivered a decent NWA World Heavyweight Title match. The main event featured World Heavyweight Champion Big Vader versus Davey Boy Smith, it was a great match, but that disqualification finish was disappointing.

5 Fall Brawl

WCW Fall Brawl 1993 War Games

This PPV looked great on paper, but unfortunately ended up being disappointing. The main event was a WarGames match between the team of Davey Boy Smith, Dustin Rhodes, Sting and The Shockmaster and the team of Harlem Heat, Big Van Vader and Sid Vicious. It should have been a banger, but it ended up being one of the worst WarGames matches of all time.

Ric Flair and Rick Rude clashed in a 30-minute WCW International World Heavyweight Title, this match sounds great, but it was actually underwhelming considering we are talking about two terrific performers. The only outstanding match of the PPV was the World Television Title match between Lord Steven Regal and Ricky Steamboat.

4 Beach Blast

Vader & Sid vs. Sting and Davey Boy Smith

Beach Blast 1993 was a decent PPV, though surely few remember it, as there was nothing in particular that was memorable. In the opening match, World Television Champion Paul Orndorff defeated Ron Simmons in an average affair. The NWA World Heavyweight Title Match between Ric Flair and Barry Windham was disappointing.

On the other hand, the Tag Team Championship match between the Hollywood Blondes and Arn Anderson and Paul Roma was great. In the main event, Sting and Davey Boy Smith defeated Vader and Sid Vicious in a very good contest.

3 Starrcade

Ric Flair Beats Vader Starrcade 1993

Starrcade 1993 is mostly remembered for the all-time classic match between Ric Flair and Big Van Vader. It was an epic bout, in which The Nature Boy put an end to Vader's nine-month World Heavyweight Title reign. Otherwise, the PPV was average, with ups and downs.

There were a couple of entertaining matches, like World Television Champion Lord Steven Regal against Ricky Steamboat, but there were also some lousy matches, like Road Warrior Hawk and Sting versus Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys. So, it was a lackluster PPV, which improved considerably due to the main event.

2 Halloween Havoc

Cactus Jack Vs Vader Texas Death Match

This PPV was pretty fun to watch from start to finish, the card consisted of eight matches and all of them were at least decent. Dustin Rhodes and Steve Austin delivered a very good United States Heavyweight Title match and Lord Steven Regal and Davey Boy Smith drew in a match for the technical wrestling lovers.

After an entertaining bout, the Nasty Boys defeated 2 Cold Scorpio and Marcus Alexander Bagwell to become Tag Team Champions. The best match of the PPV was the main event, a Texas Death match, in which Big Van Vader defeated Cactus Jack.

1 SuperBrawl III

Big Van Vader vs. Sting in a Strap Match at WCW SuperBrawl 3 in 1993

The best WCW PPV from 1993 was undoubtedly SuperBrawl III. Certainly, this PPV had a couple of poor matches (Dustin Rhodes versus Maxx Payne and Barry Windham versus The Great Muta). Nevertheless, four amazing matches made fans forget about the bad ones. Cactus Jack defeated Paul Orndorff in a great Falls Count Anywhere match and The Rock 'n' Roll Express and The Heavenly Bodies delivered an entertaining bout. The main event and best match of the show was a Strap match between Big Van Vader and Sting.
