The 1990s featured a lot of unique championship designs, whether it was in WCW, WWE or ECW. Fans still reminisce certain WCW championships from the 90s, while other championships are left forgotten not just because of its design, but because of its lack of prestigiousness.

A lot of belt designs lasted for a long time throughout the 90s, while some were updated or lasted for a really short time.

15 WCW Television Championship (1996-2001)

One of WCW's most prominent championships throughout the Monday Night Wars is also the worst championship design from the company in the 1990s.

This was the second design of the TV title in the 90s and honestly it was a huge downgrade. The globe in the center didn't really fit with the TV title aspect. The title also didn't look good at all when watching on television.

14 WCW Six Man Tag Team Championship

This championship was only active throughout the year of 1991, which has made the championship very forgettable among fans today.

This title design is very similar to the TV Championship, with a globe in the center and the name of the championship surrounding it. It's only above the Television Championship on this list because the oval template fits the belt well.

13 WCW Light Heavyweight Championship

Another championship that had a very short tenure in WCW, this time lasting between 1991 and 1992. The Light Heavyweight Championship served as a nice predecessor for the future WCW Cruiserweight Championship.

It's another case of lack of originality, with this championship looking extremely similar to other WCW midcard championships. The red templates give it a nice touch, though.

12 WCW World Tag Team Championship (1991-1996)

The first version of the WCW tag team championships was another example of WCW midcard titles looking extremely alike.

11 WCW Cruiserweight Championship

The WCW Cruiserweight Championship was one of the highlights of the Monday Night War, in which wrestlers like Rey Mysterio, Dean Malenko and Eddie Guerrero would wrestle tremendous matches on WCW television.

The belt itself looks really decent. The bright gold really elevates this title design to a new level. The globe in the center looks really cliche on other belts, but it perfectly fit the cruiserweight title and division as wrestlers from around the world would compete to get their hands on this title.

10 WCW Women's Cruiserweight Championship

WCWWomensCruiserweight

Believe it or not, but WCW actually had a women's cruiserweight championship. The title was only mentioned for a week on Monday Nitro, before being completely abandoned.

The belt itself looks alright, with the international flags on the plates giving it a nice and unique touch. For a title that was relevant for only a week, WCW did a good job in trying to make it look different from other belts.

9 WCW United States Tag Team Championship

This title was mostly relevant in the 1980s, but it was also active during the 1990s, so it makes the list. This title looks really unique when compared to other belts.

The different colors of the United States on the title design were well used and the plates on the side look really unique.

8 WCW Hardcore Championship

In 1999, looking for a more extreme approach to their product, WCW introduced the Hardcore Championship. The championship isn't really that memorable among the wrestling world today and some fans even forget that WCW had a Hardcore championship.

The best thing about the belt is how new and shiny it looks. The side plates were pretty lame, with the word hardcore being written in it. If the side plates were more original, this championship would've been higher on the list.

7 WCW Television Championship (1991-1996)

The first version of the TV Championship was much better than its successor. While it's got a lot of similarities compared to other titles, this one has a lot of characteristics that make it branch out.

The TBS side plates make a lot of sense and fit the aspect of the TV title. The red templates also make this title look a little more lively.

6 WCW Women's Championship

WCW-WOmens-Cropped

The WCW Women's Championship was mostly active throughout 1996 and 1997, before being retired in early 1998. This belt looks really good, as the crown template is a very unique characteristic for a WCW title.

It has the same side plates as the WCW Women's Cruiserweight Championship, but it still fits the title well and makes sense since WCW's women's division always featured multiple international wrestlers.

5 WCW Championship (1991-1993)

After Ric Flair left WCW for the WWE and took the classic big gold belt, WCW needed a new championship and this design was implemented. It's obviously a downgrade on the big gold belt, but it's still a nice looking title.

It looks similar to other championships, but it's a very well polished title that always looked good on television. The bright gold is a very nice feature and while the side plates look a bit lame, they still fit the belt well.

4 WCW Tag Team Championship (1996-2001)

WCW updated the tag team titles in the mid 1990s and it was a huge upgrade. The previous championships had the cliche WCW title design, but these titles felt new and original.

The name of the championship is presented well on the belt, with it surrounding the globe in a unique way. All colors blend well together and WCW did a good job in redesigning the tag belts.

3 NWA United States Championship

Lex Luger United States Champion

This design was only active until 1991, before WCW redesigned it into the WCW US Championship fans know today right after Lex Luger retained the belt against Danny Spivey at WrestleWar.

It's a really good title belt that resembles the old school NWA style belts.

2 WCW United States Championship (1991-2001)

wcw-united-states-championship-replica-figs-toy-co2

One of the most prominent championships throughout the entire history of WCW, that goes along with a very good looking design that fans still reminisce to this day.

This title is extremely unique, and it's how it should be. The big eagle and the United States flag give this belt a very special touch of originality that fit the concept of the championship extremely well.

1 WCW Championship (1990-1991; 1994-2001)

Ric Flair WCW Champion Cropped

There was only one choice for the best WCW title design. Not only was this belt held by some of wrestling's biggest superstars, but the design itself just oozes prestigiousness.

This belt still remains iconic among fans today and there's a reason why WWE later used it as the World Heavyweight Championship. It's probably the most iconic belt in wrestling history, which makes it extremely hard to beat when compared to other title designs.
