Shane McMahon is someone who often gets the biggest pops out of everyone in WWE, but he is someone who also has the biggest detractors too. The “Boy Wonder” is one of the more divisive names over the last few years especially since the whole “Best In The World” gimmick, but it is hard to argue that he has had a big impact on WWE throughout several different eras.

Over that time, in which he has played both authority figure and professional wrestler, he has been a member of stables and tag teams, all of which have had different levels of success. Some of these have been very enjoyable, whereas others have been objectively poor.

8 Shane McMahon & Drew McIntyre

When Shane McMahon turned heel and became the “Best In The World”, he procured the services of Drew McIntyre, who acted as a bodyguard and a heavy. The dynamic was fine, but it was a shame to see McIntyre take a backseat to someone far less talented.

The pair joined forces during a feud with Roman Reigns, which featured McMahon’s terrible singles victory over Reigns. The only real good part of this partnership was when they faced Roman Reigns & The Undertaker in a very fun match at the Extreme Rules 2019 PPV.

7 Shane McMahon & Daniel Bryan

In 2016, Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan became Commissioner and General Manager of SmackDown respectively, and worked well as a cohesive authority unit.

In 2018, they had to join forces as a tag team against the duo of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. They were a decent tag team but it was nothing special, and they only teamed up for a match at WrestleMania 34 and didn’t team up again. It was fine, but nothing more.

6 The Corporate Ministry

The Corporation and The Ministry of Darkness joined forces in what was a shocking moment, but as time went on, this was just too messy with way too much going on.

The ignoring of previous conflicts between the two sides was a little silly, and the constant changing of allegiances was jarring. There may have been a lot of star power involved across the board, with members including The Undertaker, Triple H, Chyna, APA, and more, but the whole “Higher Power” angle ruined it, with Vince McMahon revealed to be the mastermind behind it all, unbeknownst to the likes of Shane McMahon.

5 The Alliance

Steve Austin Joins The Alliance

After WWE acquired WCW, Shane McMahon revealed it was he who bought the company instead of his father, in what is one of the most infamous angles and biggest twists of all time. From there, Shane McMahon led many WCW stars into WWE, forming with the ECW-led Stephanie McMahon, to create and establish The Alliance to take down WWE.

On paper, having all these different wrestlers from other promotions in one place sounded like a dream come true, but overall it ended up being one huge mess. Wrestlers from both Team WWE and The Alliance were always swapping sides, although Shane did remain as the de-facto leader for quite some time until “Stone Cold” Steve Austin took that mantle for a little while. The whole invasion angle is looked back upon as a crazy and unpredictable time for professional wrestling, and it does live fondly with many, but when properly looking back at what went down, it was a bizarre time with a lot of nonsense and chaos.

4 Shane McMahon & Vince McMahon (W/ Umaga And Big Show)

Throughout 2006 and 2007, Shane and Vince McMahon joined forces for a variety of different feuds, and they also enlisted the services of both Umaga and Big Show at different times to join their alliance.

They had some fun rivalries with the likes of D-Generation X and Bobby Lashley, though at times it did get slightly jarring. For the most part, this version of the McMahons was fun and they were good foes to those they shared the ring with.

3 Shane McMahon & The Miz

Even though this was more of a short-term alliance, the chemistry between Shane McMahon and The Miz was surprisingly enjoyable and it worked like a dream. The Miz’s over-enthusiasm by teaming with “The Best In The World” helped to facilitate a babyface turn for The Miz, which heightened the impact when McMahon turned heel and attacked him.

The pair shockingly won the SmackDown Tag Team Championships at the Royal Rumble after a very fun match with The Bar. They would then have a pair of enjoyable matches against The Uso’s in which they lost the belts. This duo is certainly a hidden gem which doesn’t get looked back upon fondly enough.

2 The McMahon-Helmsley Faction

The McMahon-Helmsley Faction was born on the back of the end of the Corporate Ministry. It saw the likes of Vince and Shane McMahon join forces with D-Generation X, in what was essentially a redo of the Corporation, though with Triple H centered as the number one star and heel they wanted to push.

It certainly wasn’t as successful as The Corporation, but the group had a good mix of individuals and provided some entertaining TV. After years of all the McMahon family members changing sides, it did get a little confusing, but it is still among the best groups Shane McMahon has been a member of.

1 The Corporation

The Rock Deadly Game
The Rock joins the Corporation at Survivor Series

The Corporation is up there with the most effective heel stables of all time. When the evil Mr. McMahon character became fully fledged on WWE programming upon the start of The Attitude Era, he formed The Corporation, which also involved his son Shane McMahon, in order to take on many WWE’s babyfaces such as “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, whilst trying to push their prized possession of The Rock as the number one star.

Shane McMahon was a very effective member of the group, playing the role of the son of a billionaire wonderfully. He would put his body on the line and often be one of the “bump guys” for the group, much to the delight of fans who loved seeing him get beaten up. The Corporation were the perfect foes which led to the rise of the Austin era, which helped the promotion defeat WCW in the Monday Night Wars. This group was a stroke of genius and the best faction that Shane McMahon was ever a part of.
