AEW recently announced the bracket for the upcoming AEW World Championship Eliminator tournament, where the company will be aiming to create a brand new number one contender for the title. Whoever ends up winning will earn a future shot against either Kenny Omega or Hangman Adam Page, which will instantly put them into the main event scene.

While every wrestler that is involved in the tournament brings great quality to the ring and they each have their own unique attributes, only one person can win this. They all have the same chances when it comes to how they need to get to the final, but there are some who are certainly seen as favorites in comparison to others.

8 Dustin Rhodes

Dustin Rhodes AEW

There is no denying that Dustin Rhodes is an incredible wrestler and he has been able to step things up a notch since joining AEW. However, at this stage in his career, it is unlikely that the company is going to be pushing him into the World Title scene.

The fact he has to face Bryan Danielson in the first round also doesn't help his chances, as Bryan is a firm favorite. Rhodes is someone audiences will always get behind, which is why it makes sense to have him involved, but he isn't going to be winning this.

7 10

Preston-Vance-10 Cropped

10 is somebody that has a lot of potential and he is one of the most exciting members of The Dark Order in terms of in-ring ability. However, this opportunity is likely coming a little too early in his career, as he is still developing and connecting with the audience.

He is somebody that could be a big name in the future, and he may very well work his way into the main event scene at some stage. But when it comes to this tournament, 10 is out there to put on a great match, but he will likely be out in the first round.

6 Lance Archer

Lance Archer

Lance Archer is a hard-hitting physical presence who certainly has all the qualities of being a World Champion in AEW. However, his booking over recent months hasn't always been consistent, therefore it doesn't really feel like there's enough momentum behind him right now to actually win.

While Archer can put together some great matches against anybody, which always makes him a threat, he is somebody that will end up falling short, potentially in the first round of the tournament.

5 Orange Cassidy

Orange Cassidy is likely a dark horse heading into this tournament. He is somebody that has mainly been used as a comedic talent, but he is incredibly entertaining and has a true connection with the fans, which is why people would be happy to see him as AEW World Champion.

Cassidy might be happy to joke around, but inside the ring, he is also a fantastic wrestler. While he might not go all the way to win, he would be a unique option for AEW to consider winning here, which is something that fans would get behind.

4 Powerhouse Hobbs

Powerhouse Hobbs in AEW

Powerhouse Hobbs is a fantastic wrestler and somebody that fans are eager to see get pushed further up the card. As a top heel, Hobbs could be a brilliant contender if Adam Page is going to end up winning the AEW World Championship.

With the rest of Team Taz around him, Hobbs could be able to cheat his way through this tournament, and he certainly has the ability to put on high-quality matches with anybody involved in this bracket.

Editor's Update: Powerhouse Hobbs has been eliminated from the tournament, losing to Orange Cassidy on AEW Rampage.

3 Eddie Kingston

Eddie Kingston on the mic in AEW

Eddie Kingston brings a different style to others within this tournament due to his brawling abilities, and that is something that could see him go deep. Kingston can draw in audiences better than anybody with his amazing promo skills, and that is why he could end up winning the entire thing.

While he might not be the most obvious choice in comparison to others, Kingston would certainly be a popular option with fans. He should at least make the semi-final, and that could lead to him going all the way.

2 Jon Moxley

Out of everybody involved in this AEW World Championship Eliminator, Jon Moxley is actually the only wrestler who has ever held the title. He has been to the top of AEW and dominated, putting together an excellent run with the belt, proving to the company he is worthy of getting the chance to hold it again.

He's one of the biggest names on the roster, therefore he is always going to be considered a favorite. Moxley has a history with Omega which could be played into, and seeing him in the World Title scene is always going to be a popular decision, which is why he could win.

1 Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson AEW

Even though Moxley is a former champion, Bryan Danielson just edges him as the favorite for this tournament. The reason for that is because he's the new star in the company and one of the best wrestlers of all time, therefore it would make sense to throw him straight into the title scene.

Bryan could have an amazing match with Adam Page or a brilliant rematch with Omega, and fans would go crazy for him as AEW World Champion. Tony Khan had to put a lot of effort in to sign the American Dragon, and pushing him to the top of the card would be his reward.
