Bray Wyatt was released from his WWE contract on July 31, and the former Universal Champion remains a wrestling free agent.
Wyatt's 90-day non compete clause expired on Oct. 28, so he's now free to sign wherever he wishes. The 34-year-old has already landed a major post-WWE project, as he and close friend Jason Baker are about to start on a movie that will commence filming in Tennessee later this month. Baker is the owner of Callosum Studios, and he worked closely with Wyatt during the latter's time in WWE. The former even helped design the mask of The Fiend, Wyatt's WWE alter ego.
During an appearance on the Gimme A Hull Yeah podcast (h/t Fightful.com), Baker explained that he and Wyatt were given plenty of "creative freedom", in WWE although they still had to get receive green light on everything.
"WWE did give Bray and I a lot of creative freedom but also, a lot of times, everything had to be approved," Baker explained. "There were little tweaks and changes and things like that. At the end of the day, whoever is footing the bill is the one who gets (final say). If we're working for WWE and creating a mask for them, it's safety first. The big thing we have to do it make sure that it's comfortable, durable, and they can see out of it."
It was reported that Vince McMahon came to dislike Wyatt because the latter was openly critical of WWE creative. Apparently, he and Randy Orton were both unhappy with the way their feud concluded at WrestleMania 37, which saw The Viper defeat Wyatt via pinfall.

Shortly after Wyatt's release, PWInsider.com reported that the McMahon-Wyatt relationship "ran very hot and cold at times." Wyatt was reportedly overprotective of his wrestling character as well.
Wyatt's final WWE appearance took place on the post-WrestleMania episode of Monday Night Raw on Apr. 12. After losing to Orton, Wyatt announed in a "Firefly Fun House" segment that he was seeking a fresh start. That "fresh start" never came, as he was kept off of television before the company unexpectedly released him.
WWE Wasted Countless Opportunities With Bray Wyatt
Bray Wyatt was a top merchandise seller for the company, and he had no problems getting over with the WWE Universe. Wyatt displayed all the makings to be a perennial main event babyface and star, but WWE just kept finding ways to mismanage his character. For Wyatt, his WWE release should serve as a blessing in disguise, as he will undoubtedly flourish with the promotion that lands him.
