You'd have thought the most chaotic time for wrestling this past week would have been the 36-hour period during which WWE and AEW decided to cram three major shows. Turns out the chaos was being saved for immediately after and the days that have passed since. CM Punk went off on AEW's EVPs during a press conference. That led to an altercation backstage, after which seven AEW wrestlers and employees have reportedly been suspended.
New AEW Trios Champions Crowned
CM Punk was not one of those people, at least not yet. While his status with the company remains up in the air, what we do know is he has been stripped of the AEW Title. Tony Khan confirmed that on Dynamite this week, adding that the Trios Titles have also been taken from the suspended Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.

While fans will have to wait until Grand Slam later this month for a new World Champion to be crowned, the Trios Titles already have new holders. Khan decided to give the opportunity to two of the longest-tenured trios in AEW. Death Triangle and Best Friends. Both teams were a part of the tournament to crown the first Trios Champions. Unfortunately for Best Friends, they have now failed to win them twice.
Pac Makes AEW History
After Rey Fenix and Penta flew over the ropes to keep everyone else at bay, Pac hit the Black Arrow on Chuck and covered him for the win. That means the Brit now has two titles after successfully defending the All-Atlantic Championship against Kip Sabian during All Out's Zero Hour. Even though FTR currently has multiple titles and Omega has held more than one championship at the same time, Pac is the first wrestler in AEW history to hold two of the promotion's belts at the same time.
Hopefully the Trios Titles can now be defended in terrific matches as intended after being dragged into some unwanted drama under their first holders. The World Champion will be either Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, or Bryan Danielson who beat Hangman Page in the first tournament match on Dynamite.
