It was news this past week that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was going to making a trip to the WWE Performance Center. The idea was to check out the talent and potentially see if there were future stars within the system he could turn into main roster main event champions.

It was a rare visit but the news he was scouting talent with Nick Khan, Bruce Prichard, and John Laurinaitis was seen as a positive step in the right direction. While a potential opportunity for up-and-comers, that doesn't mean his visit wasn't met with stress from the talent working out there.

According to PWInsider before the big wigs met with staff and observed some of the training going on at the WWE PC, there was a great deal of concern McMahon's visit could lead to more cuts. With as many releases as WWE has done in recent months and with potentially more released rumored, it makes sense some prospects in the system would have been worried.

Fortunately, PWI noted that the visit was positive. One person said it was like a “breath of fresh air”. That's about the best possible result that could have come out of his visit, and maybe one of the reasons he was there in the first place.

That the concern subsided while McMahon and co. were in attendance is a good thing.

Will This Motivate Talent?

Ultimately, there may be more releases and while McMahon and everyone involved might not have gone there to light a fire under the talent, it may have done so anyways. That Vince actually cares enough to show up to the WWE Performance Center has to at least tell the wrestlers there that he's get them on his radar.

Will the next big star come out of the visit? Only time will tell.
