Tuesday's NXT was the biggest edition of the show for a while for a couple of reasons. Partly because it was the go-home for Halloween Havoc this Saturday, but also because it was up against AEW Dynamite for the first time in 18 months. The show was packed with main roster stars, including a flying visit from Kevin Owens.

Austin Theory Teases A Cash-In

KO stopped by for the main event segment, hosting a special edition of The KO Show. The former Universal Champion's guests were NXT Champion Bron Breakker, and the two men who will challenge him this weekend, Ilja Dragunov and JD McDonagh. As expected, a fight broke out and Owens made himself scarce, as did McDonagh.

Dragunov managed to drop Breakker, and as the former NXT UK Champion held the title aloft, Austin Theory's music hit. Mr. Money in the Bank didn't even come close to hitting the ring, but just wanted to remind all three men competing for the championship at Halloween Havoc that the contract can be cashed in on Tuesday night's title should Theory decide that's what he wants to do.

Giving Up On Roman Reigns

The MITB contract has never been used to cash in on an NXT Title before, but it has been teased that contract holders have that option. The same applies to Royal Rumble winners who earn themselves a title shot at WrestleMania by winning the 30-person match. Charlotte Flair has used that opportunity to challenge for the NXT Women's Title, beating Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 36.

Teasing that Theory might cash in on the NXT Champion, even if it doesn't happen at Halloween Havoc, is smart by WWE. It becomes a little more clear with each passing defense that Theory probably isn't going to be the one to dethrone Roman Reigns. Upsetting the balance in NXT, on the other hand, could definitely happen and prevent Theory's MITB win from being a wasted one.
