April 2022 brings a set of new villager birthdays to Animal Crossing: New Horizons for fans to enjoy and raise their friendship levels.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, a different villager celebrates their birthday each day of the calendar year. These birthday parties act as an opportunity for players to increase their relationships with the various residents on their island. There are now 413 villagers that can be encountered by fans. Fortunately, players will only have to remember 10 days out of the year because of the small limit on island residents. April 2022 brings a new set of birthdays and another chance for the entire village to celebrate together.
Every day in April is dedicated to one villager, with a couple of characters sharing the 2nd, 6th, 17th, and 23rd. While important for strengthening a relationship, there are no consequences for ignoring a birthday in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This decision was most likely made during development because Nintendo understood not all players are able to play every day. With only 10 spots available, fans spend a long time curating their potential candidates, before inviting 10 residents to live on their island. Birthdays in Animal Crossing are a great way to show appreciation to the NPCs that populate the village.
Tom Nook will notify fans a week beforehand about the upcoming celebrations for each resident. Afterward, the bulletin board outside the Resident Services building will display all the upcoming events. This will give fans plenty of time to acquire a proper gift for their residents. Players should have a present ready to give to their villagers on the day of the party. Birthdays are a great way to boost the friendship level between fans and their residents. However, players should keep in mind that villagers do not tolerate trash as birthday gifts. Giving the right item is key to obtaining the maximum amount of friendship points in Animal Crossing.
All Animal Crossing Villagers With Birthdays In April
Relationships in New Horizons have six different levels, and additional features are gained based on the relationship strength, such as villagers giving items to players. Delivering an item to a resident each day will award points, but an increased amount is gained on birthdays. There are three tiers of presents that can be given to villagers during the celebration, each escalating in item price. Tier one awards players with only three points. Fans can gift Bugs, Fish, Fossils, and Seashells worth up to 500 Bells or other items worth up to 125 Bells.
Tier two gifts are worth four points. These include the same collectibles worth 501 to 1,999 Bells or other items worth 126 to 499 Bells. Tier three grants five friendship points to players. Clothing, Fruit, Turnips, Cake, Mushrooms, and all the previous collectibles worth 2,000 Bells or more, will also award full credit. Players can wrap items of each tier for an extra boost in affection. This makes giving wrapped fruit in Animal Crossing: New Horizons the most cost-effective gift at parties.
