Last year, WWE fired Zelina Vega after she breached her contract with the company. Vince McMahon had created a new policy in WWE that didn't allow superstars to be active on platforms such as Twitch, Cameo, and Only Fans unless they wanted to.
Vega, and some other superstars, weren't happy with this decision but it was only her who ended up losing her job in November 2020. WWE wanted to make an example out of someone, but unfortunately, it turned out to be Vega.

AEW Had Interest In Her
Vega had a 90-days clause in her contract which ended a long time ago. Tony Khan once said that he wanted to discuss a deal with her but he was waiting for her 90-day clause to expire, which already did but Khan didn't know at that time.
In March 2021, Dave Meltzer reported that Vega had signed a contract that wouldn't allow her to work for any wrestling company, and it wasn't All Elite Wrestling. Meltzer didn't know if she had signed a contract with another wrestling promotion or some other company but revealed it was a short-term deal.
WWE Missed The Boat With This Pair
When Vega was working for WWE, she was Andrade's manager. They started working together in 2017 and became a great wrestler/manager pair. But during the last few months of her stint in WWE, she started working as a singles competitor after she walked out on Andrade and Angel Garza.
Sometime after WWE fired Zelina, Andrade too ended up getting released by the company. Although it was his wish to leave the promotion as Vince McMahon and Co. didn't quite know how to make good use of him. Post AEW Double or Nothing this year, Andrade made his big debut in the company on Dynamite.
Last week, Jim Ross interviewed him where Andrade revealed that there's a surprise coming up for fans next week. Now many people have started to assume that it might be about Zelina Vega's AEW debut. She had worked with Andrade for years before and they have great chemistry together.
She Could Also Return Soon To WWE With Aleister Black
At the same time, however, wrestling fans should also be aware that Vega was recently seen in WWE. Per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, She and The Rock's daughter, Simone Johnson, were filmed for some reason and although nobody knows about the details, it possibly means Vega is open to returning to WWE in the future. Vega was also at the Performance Center after her release some weeks ago.
Her husband Aleister Black though was also fired by WWE earlier this month. The higher-ups in WWE aren't too sure if they made the right decision and it could lead to Black's return to the company soon too. If that's the case, likely, Zelina could also be brought back in WWE so that she and her husband could be closer to each other.
Many fans even speculated that WWE could pair this real-life couple on television. Black hasn't done too much on the main roster and a pairing with his wife might be the thing that changes everything for him.
A Zelina Vega & Andrade Reunion Is The Better Choice
Assuming Meltzer's report was accurate, it might be a while before wrestling fans see the debut of Vega in AEW (if that's where she goes) or even a return to WWE. Nobody knows how long will Vega stay away from a wrestling ring and even if she returns, will she work as a singles wrestler or become someone's manager.
Though wrestling fans will want her to come to AEW and work with Andrade. That way, it'll help Andrade a lot during his storylines since Vega has proved herself to be a great mouthpiece. A deal with AEW could also allow her to travel all over the world and work for different wrestling promotions.
Since AEW already has a working relationship with Impact Wrestling, she will get to make a return there as well. Also, New Japan Pro Wrestling might also show some interest in working with Vega.
Andrade's Big Surprise
Vega probably knows all of this already and she might have even signed a contract with AEW and that's might be the surprise Andrade talked about on last Dynamite. It's very possible because after all, Vega signed that undisclosed contract somewhere between February to March.
If it was indeed a short-term deal, then there's a chance that it for only for three months. Or maybe, it was just a bogus rumor and Vega didn't sign an exclusive contract anywhere. There are so many possibilities but soon, fans will probably get to know where Vega is headed to.
