Ahead of his AEW return on the debut episode of Collision, CM Punk appeared in a vignette during Dynamite to hype his comeback. While the video did a good job of hyping up Punk's first appearance in AEW since his post All Out meltdown last September, the Dynamite crowd wasn't excited to see him. In CM Punk's vignette, the former AEW World Champion spoke over a montage of him working out. "The only thing that's certain about CM Punk right now is that nothing's certain. I'm coming back for the same reasons I came to AEW in the first place. I got scores to settle. There's still things left to do. Saturday, the 17th of June, Collision, the United Center, I won't know what I'm gonna do or say 'til I have that microphone in my hand. I have a lot of things to get off my chest."
Although the vignette didn't include the live reaction of the Dynamite crowd in attendance, fan videos showed the arena in Washington D.C. booing CM Punk. They didn't come across as fun or passionate boos either, but rather as if the crowd simply just didn't care to see him.

Will AEW Turn CM Punk Heel?
CM Punk has an interesting few weeks ahead of him. On Saturday he not only returns to AEW but has a match, with Punk and his vocal supporters, FTR, set to take on Samoa Joe, Jay White, and Juice Robinson in the Collision main event. After that there are the rumors of him facing Kenta at Forbidden Door.
CM Punk is sure to get a huge ovation in Chicago. After that, it remains to be seen how crowds will react. This isn't the first time, however, that a live crowd has booed Punk's return. There was also a negative in house reaction to Tony Khan's CM Punk announcements. If he is jeered on Collision in the weeks after his Chicago comeback, AEW will have to think about turning Punk heel, if that isn't their plan already. A lot remains to be seen on how Punk's second chance in AEW goes, but it certainly will be fascinating to watch play out.
