New AEW superstar Adam Cole is already playing the jealous partner at his new home and recently took it online. The storyline between Cole, Britt Baker and Tony Schiavone is getting quite good and, given that Cole and Baker are an item, it's no surprise the promotion has decided to capitalize.
Baker has a huge fan in Schiavone, who is an announcer, and Cole seems to think the two have gotten too comfortable. The former NXT performer has called Schiavone out on a number of occasions since making his way on the brand.

There wasn't a lot of time removed from his debut when he warned the announcer off his girlfriend and it resulted in a pretty laughable exchange on Twitter. Britt claimed she didn't get what Cole was referring to and he responded by posting a tweet only bearing periods. The one that followed was a close-up of Schiavone's face while he was hugging Britt in the ring. You could see it right below.
This storyline can certainly go places. Stuff like this tends to do well no matter the promotion putting it out there as there's an authentic feel. Cole, who debuted at All Out earlier this month, comes in as a pretty intriguing personality and it will be interesting to see the direction AEW takes with him. Almost anything would beat WWE's reported plans for the superstar.
How It Went Down In The Background
Cole and Schiavone have laid the details of their conversation on the angle bare in an interview during which the announcer claimed Britt was one of his favorite people.
“Obviously, when Britt comes out in her interviews, she hugs me. I’ve been her interviewer. I’ve been her protector. I’ve kind of felt like dad because, in reality, I’m older than her dad," Schiavone explained. "We’ve had this on-screen relationship that is genuine because I really have a lot of time for Britt like I have a lot of time for a lot of people. You are one of my favorite people. There’s no question.”
