We, the WWE fans are among some of the most vocal in the world. When heard as a massive collective voice, it changes the fate of nearly any superstar (Daniel Bryan for example). Some would say fandom is fickle, but for seven years fans repeatedly chanted for “CM Punk,” almost in protest of anything that the company was doing that wasn’t registering with fans.

Sometimes, chants can be so loud and filled with vitriol that it can take over the whole show, or at least portion of the show are completely taken over by the audience, showcasing just how much they can’t stand something that happened on the show.
8 Money In The Bank 2011
Sure, the hijacking was bound to happen and probably everyone inside the WWE knew it was going to. But it was still quite the sight to see the fans in Chicago boo WWE Champion John Cena unmercifully. The boos weren’t just the usual “Cena Sucks” chants. His challenger for the evening was Chicago’s own, CM Punk.
Punk came to the ring as a conquering hero and left the same way, with the WWE title in tow on what was his “last night” in the company.
7 Royal Rumble 2014
With WrestleMania 30 looming, the hottest guy on the roster was Daniel Bryan. However backstage, he really was viewed as a B-plus player, and he wasn’t even in the Rumble match. He had competed earlier in the night, losing to Bray Wyatt in a great opening rant. The returning Dave Batista was, and his victory was a cause of consternation for the WWE Universe instead of the feeling of triumph.

Boo-tista was born as the fans chanted for CM Punk, who was eliminated, and Daniel Bryan were chanted in protest. Even Rey Mysterio was booed coming out at number 30, simply because he wasn’t Daniel Bryan.
6 Royal Rumble 2015
Certainly WWE wouldn’t make the same mistake two years in a row, would they? After fighting his way back from injury, Daniel Bryan was making his return at the 2015 Royal Rumble. After not even being part of the 2014 Rumble and seeing the backlash it caused among fans, perhaps now the fans would get what they wanted. Instead, the WWE put on an even worse Rumble match then the year before.
In a very anti-climatic showing, Bryan got eliminated after 10 measly minutes, leading to the crowd chanting “Daniel Bryan” for rest of the entire Rumble and even booed The Rock saving his cousin, Roman Reigns.
5 WrestleMania 32
Depending on who you believe, the WWE inflated their attendance numbers to insure they reached 100,000 people in attendance at WrestleMania 32. They also grossly overly inflated their main event. The Roman Reigns as the face of WWE experiment had greatly floundered and the WWE Universe just wasn’t into him as the 'suffering succotash' saying babyface.
The Texas crowd was not pleased that he conquered Triple H and the near 100-110K booed the Big Dog in what was supposed to be his crowning achievement.
4 Hell In The Cell 2019
Say whatever you’d like about whatever has been going on with Seth Rollins for the past year or so, but he’s still the only man in WWE history to have beaten both Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns to capture WWE and Universal gold. In 2019, The Beastslayer was rocking and rolling, but he couldn’t become The Fiendslayer.

Bray Wyatt’s new character was on fire and the WWE Universe were hankering for a title change. Not only did that not happen at Hell In A Cell, but a match that supposedly had zero rules was called by referee stoppage! The WWE Universe revolted, perhaps louder than ever hurling chants of “CM Punk” and “AEW!” But when The Fiend arose ready for war, the WWE Universe got even louder, demanding to “Restart The Match!”
3 WrestleMania X8
For years, the biggest name in WWE was The Rock; before that it was Hulk Hogan. But for nearly a decade, Hulkamania was running wild in WCW. He came back to WWE as the leader of the nWo and was gearing up for a showdown with The Great One at WrestleMania X8. He even tried to maim and end The Rock's career with a Mack truck! But when match time came, no one in Toronto cared.
The WWE Universe at Skydome were just elated that Hulk Hogan was once again back home at WrestleMania.
2 WrestleMania XX
One of the big dream matches that was set for WrestleMania XX was Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar. The older lion of WCW against the young monster of the WWE. The fans knew Goldberg had signed for one year and wasn’t re-signing, so he was clearly going to get booed by the vitriolic New York City crowd.

But when Brock also put in for his release, it guaranteed a hot match becoming hot garbage and both men were getting booed out of MSG. Meanwhile, the only superstar who got any love was guest referee Steve Austin. The WWE Universe was just waiting for both men to eat Stunners.
1 King Of The Ring 1995
In the mid-90s, if you ran a show in ECW’s backyard, a promotion needed to be prepared for a hostile crowd dumping on anything that wasn’t even remotely close to the kind of hardcore product ECW fans loved. Big immobile Mabel winning the King Of The Ring definitely did not fit that bill at all.
The raucous crowd had zero interest in anything the WWE was doing this night. This is also the night that Vince McMahon first took notice of the promotion, leading to the relationship between the two companies.
