Timothy Thatcher is one of NXT's most recent debuts. He debuted as a replacement for one half of the NXT Tag Team Champions, Pete Dunne. Thatcher and partner Matt Riddle wouldn't get along, however. They would lose the tag titles and go on to have one of the best matches of the year in the NXT Fight Pit.

Thatcher is a hard-hitting submission specialist. He enjoys hurting his opponents in the ring. There are many enticing opponents for Thatcher to torture with submission holds both in NXT and on the main roster.
10 NXT: Roderick Strong
Roderick Strong is always exciting to watch in the ring. The Messiah of the Backbreaker excels with both strikes, power moves, and submissions. A match against Timothy Thatcher would be captivating for NXT fans.
Both men know how to brutalize an opponent. Thatcher vs Strong would have the simple story of whether Strong can compromise Thatcher's back to get the win before Thatcher submits him. This would be a hard-hitting contest worthy of an NXT main event.
9 Main Roster: AJ Styles
The current Intercontinental Champion, AJ Styles, is one of the best wrestlers of his generation. Furthermore, he can have a good match with anyone from Jinder Mahal to John Cena. Styles is always great and with the right opponent, his matches are downright phenomenal.
Thatcher would make a very interesting opponent for Styles. There aren't many men as brutal as Thatcher on the main roster. His submission style should pair well with Styles in the same manner that Styles and Daniel Bryan pair well.
8 NXT: Karrion Kross
Debuting right after Timothy Thatcher, the second of NXT's highly anticipated recruits immediately captivated NXT fans. Karrion Kross has an incredible aura of violence and charisma and it is clear that he will be in the main event before long.

The two most recent NXT recruits could have a war worthy of TakeOver. Both are incredibly brutal competitors that enjoy inflicting pain on their opponents. The throws, strikes, and submissions these two would inflict upon each other would make any normal person wince and any wrestling fan smile.
7 Main Roster: Samoa Joe
Samoa Joe and Timothy Thatcher have similar styles. Both are well versed in suplexes, strikes, and submissions. Where Joe's strikes are very precise, Thatcher's read as incredibly wild and brutal. These are two men who like to make their opponents hurt before finally submitting them.
Thatcher and Joe could have a war that wouldn't be for the faint of heart. The violence these two men are capable of bringing could result in a very special match. Fans of this brutal style of wrestling would rejoice if the match were booked.
6 NXT: Kyle O'Reilly
Any fan of submission wrestling would salivate at the prospect of Kyle O'Reilly vs Timothy Thatcher. While many NXT fans may know him as a tag specialist in The Undisputed Era, O'Reilly is an incredible singles competitor as well.
O'Reilly throws strikes and snatches brutal submission holds with the best of them. That's what makes him a perfect opponent for Thatcher. A match between the two would feature incredible mat wrestling, brutal strikes, and some of the most painful submission holds fans could witness.
5 Main Roster: Aleister Black
With Aleister Black's unique charisma and exciting in-ring style, fans are impatiently waiting for him to be in the main event scene of Raw. The former NXT Champion has proven he can more than hold his own with the best of them. Fans would love to see him hit a Black Mass and capture a world championship any day.

Before that, he should have a match with Timothy Thatcher. Both are incredible technical wrestlers, which would have wrestling purists drooling until they uncorked their massive strikes. The question would be whether Thatcher can submit Black before falling victim to Black Mass.
4 NXT: Finn Balor
Finn Balor brought a more aggressive style with him when he returned to NXT last year. Everything he does in the ring now looks incredibly painful. That's what makes him similar to Thatcher. While Thatcher inflicts pain on his opponents with big strikes and devastating submissions, Balor adds extra impact to his high flying arsenal.
Balor vs Thatcher would be an intriguing match of contrasting styles. While both men look to hurt their opponents before picking up the victory, they do so in very different ways. It would be captivating for fans to see these clashing styles go to war in the ring.
3 Main Roster: Cesaro
Cesaro is WWE's biggest missed opportunity and his fans won't hesitate to remind them of that. As one of the best wrestlers in WWE, The Swiss Superman should have been a world champion by now. Despite him not being in the main event scene, however, he always puts on amazing matches.

Cesaro's incredible strength and athleticism would serve a huge challenge to Thatcher. Seeing Cesaro and Thatcher race to break each other down before seizing a win would surely have fans on the edge of their seat until the final bell rang.
2 NXT: Pete Dunne
Who better to face Thatcher than the man who gave him a spot in the NXT Tag Team Championship team with Matt Riddle. Surely The Bruiserweight isn't pleased that Thatcher let Riddle lose the championships and brutalized him afterward.
With the story already written and waiting to unfold, Pete Dunne vs Timothy Thatcher has TakeOver written all over it. Both are incredible performers with brutal styles that emphasize breaking down a limb of the opponent. This is one war NXT fans would love to see.
1 Main Roster: Daniel Bryan
Thatcher is often praised for his incredible mat wrestling and brutal submissions. There would be no better test of those skills than a match against Daniel Bryan, one of the greatest technical wrestlers performing today.
Thatcher and Bryan could put on a classic for wrestling purists with their incredible technique that would eventually lead to brutal submissions. Not to mention that both men are incredible strikers. Thatcher's heavy strikes would be put to the test against Bryan's precise kicks. Bryan vs Thatcher could be an absolute classic if WWE booked it.
