Pro wrestling fans didn't quite get the dream rivalry they wanted back in 2001. Many fans wanted to see the ultimate showdown between the top competitors of WWE and WCW, throwing ECW in the mix was just an added bonus. But what fans got was a watered down and disappointing sight that is perhaps the biggest missed opportunity in all of pro wrestling.

Outside of ECW's Rob Van Dam and WCW's Booker T (barely), no other invading superstar seemed capable of hanging with WWE's top names. There were other Alliance members who were able to make a dent in the product, but usually it wasn't much outside of a mid-card title reign. But that's better than what others got during this time period. Some of the invaders didn't win a title at all. Here's a look back at five Alliance members who didn't win a championship during The Invasion storyline and five members who did!
10 Did: Mike Awesome (Hardcore Championship)
Mike Awesome was the first member of the Alliance to win a title in the WWE. Following Rhyno's victory over Test in a backstage area, Awesome suddenly appeared and assaulted Rhyno, capturing the WWF Hardcore Championship in the process. Awesome entered the picture as an invading WCW superstar. Although, he's most recognized for his time in "The Land of Extreme" as ECW World Heavyweight Champion.
Awesome dropped the title to Jeff Hardy a couple of weeks later on SmackDown. Following this loss, Awesome would never win another title in the WWE again.
9 Didn't: Chavo Guerrero, Jr.
Although Chavo Guerrero did find plenty of championship success during his WWE tenure, none of this came during the Invasion storyline. Guerrero was mostly a background fixture during this time and only wrestled at one pay-per-view, where he was eliminated by "The One" Billy Gunn during the Immunity Battle Royal at Survivor Series 2001. His most notable victory, as part of The Alliance, occurred during the Invasion pre-show Heat match where he defeated Scotty 2 Hotty.
Chavo's greatest success would come following The Invasion's conclusion. During the early years of the Ruthless Aggression Era, Chavo would shine along with his uncle Eddie as part of Los Guerreros. Together, Chavo and Eddie won the WWE Tag Team Championship twice. Chavo would also find success as a singles wrestler, capturing the WWE Cruiserweight Championship on four occasions and winning the ECW Championship once.
8 Did: Rob Van Dam (Hardcore Championship)
Rob Van Dam was one of the only Alliance members who truly shined during this time. One of his biggest moments during the storyline saw RVD defeat Jeff Hardy for the WWF Hardcore Championship in an amazing hardcore match at the Invasion pay-per-view. Hardy and RVD would then trade championship wins, but Van Dam won the feud and got his Hardcore Title back in an incredible ladder match at SummerSlam.

RVD's star rose to such heights during this time that he found himself in the main event of No Mercy 2001 fighting for the WWF Championship in a triple threat match. Although Van Dam wasn't able to beat Austin or Angle for the title, he still made a notable dent during The Invasion.
While a part of The Alliance, RVD held the Hardcore Championship on three separate occasions. RVD is also noted as the man who retired the championship, becoming the last official Hardcore Champion during his fourth and final reign with the title on August 26, 2002.
7 Didn't: Raven
Raven was a standout performer in ECW but a bit character as a member of The Alliance. Instead of WWE trying to highlight what made Raven an attraction in ECW and WCW, the former ECW World Champion faded to the background and only engaged in lower card contests.
The most memorable moment Raven had during The Invasion storyline involved him feeding Perry Saturn's beloved Moppy to a wood chipper. Following The Invasion storyline, Raven made history, becoming a record-setting 27-time WWE Hardcore Champion.
6 Did: Lance Storm (Intercontinental Championship)
Lance Storm kicked off The Invasion storyline (literally) by super-kicking Perry Saturn, costing him (and Terri Runnels) the match to Steve Blackman and Trish Stratus, on the May 28, 2001, episode of Raw Is War. Less than two months later, Storm would win his first title in the WWE, defeating Albert for the WWF Intercontinental Championship following interference from fellow Alliance members.

After dropping the gold to Edge at SummerSlam, Storm would form a tag team with The Hurricane. But he wouldn't win another title in the WWE until after The Invasion concluded.
5 Didn't: Justin Credible
Justin Credible's role during The Invasion was anything but incredible. The former ECW World Heavyweight Champion did receive some championship success in WWE, winning the Hardcore Championship eight times. However, during his time with The Alliance, Credible did not win a single title.
During this time, Credible was mostly regulated to the under-card and was rarely featured on WWE's main programming. Credible's first and only pay-per-view match as part of The Alliance occurred at the 2001 Survivor Series, where he came up short in the Immunity Battle Royal, which would be won by Test.
4 Did: Rhyno (WCW United States Championship)
Rhyno, as part of The Alliance, won the WCW United States Championship after defeating Tajiri at Unforgiven 2001. The Man Beast would hold on to the gold for a little less than a month before dropping it to Kurt Angle. Following this loss, Rhyno was suspended from The Alliance by Shane McMahon. This was really an excuse to write the former ECW World Champion off of television so that he could receive neck surgery to repair two herniated discs.
3 Didn't: Tommy Dreamer
"The Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer wasn't much of an innovator of anything during The Invasion storyline. He made his WWE debut on the July 9, 2001, episode of Raw Is War, as part of the ECW contingent of The Alliance. This one appearance would be the biggest impact Dreamer would have during The Invasion storyline.

Dreamer failed to win a title during his time with The Alliance. He really failed to do much of anything during this storyline. Although he would eventually go on to receive championship success in WWE, winning the Hardcore Championship on 14 different occasions in 2002 and winning the ECW Championship in WWE's revived ECW brand in 2009.
2 Did: Stone Cold Steve Austin (WWE Championship)
As part of The Alliance, Stone Cold received his sixth and final reign with the WWE Championship after defeating Kurt Angle. Austin achieved this reign with help from then WWF Commissioner William Regal who immediately joined The Alliance after betraying his company. This title change took place on the October 8, 2001, episode of Raw Is War.
Considering that many ECW and WCW wrestlers appeared to be no match for WWE's top brass, Stone Cold was used as the leader and star of the group. Austin's inclusion in The Alliance made this faction a much more credible threat to WWE.
1 Didn't: Hugh Morris (Bill DeMott)
Although Hugh Morris was one of the first members of the Alliance to appear on WWE television, his dent in the storyline is almost microscopic. And not only did Morris not win a title during this storyline, but he never won a championship in WWE, period.
Hugh Morris' shining moment in 2001 was a victory at the one and only Invasion pay-per-view, where the former two-time WCW United States Champion won a six-man tag team match with partners, Chris Kanyon and Shawn Stasiak.
