WWE has held a ton of PPVs since its first PPV, and still keeps hosting many PPVs each year. While WWE tries having only top wrestlers to main event PPVs, we also get lower tier stars main eventing PPVs.

While it may not be a big deal main eventing a WWE PPV now due to the large number of PPV events, only a select few are in the main events regularly. What is even harder is main eventing a PPV in three different decades, but some wrestlers have managed to achieve this milestone.

10 Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan after winning the WWF title at Wrestlemania 9

Hulk Hogan's name in this list is no surprise as he was a top star in WWE for a long time. He main evented all WrestleManias from WrestleMania 1 to WrestleMania 9, which includes WrestleManias from both the 1980s and 1990s decades.

Hogan was away from WWE for a long time after 1993, but he main evented a few more PPVs in the early 2000s. He main evented Backlash and Judgment Day 2002 against Triple H and Undertaker, respectively. His last WWE PPV main event was against Shawn Michaels at SummerSlam 2005.

9 The Undertaker

The Undertaker WrestleMania 36 Cropped

Another frequent wrestler in the main event of PPVs was The Undertaker. In fact, 'Taker managed to main event a PPV in 4 decades from the 1990s to the 2020s. His first PPV main event was at This Tuesday in Texas in 1991 against Hulk Hogan.

Undertaker has not just normal PPV main events in all decades, but he actually has a WrestleMania main event in all of them. In the 2000s, he main evented 'Manias 23 and 24, 'Manias 26 and 33 in the 2010s, and Night 1 of 'Mania 36 in the 2020s.

8 Shawn Michaels

Similar to The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels also holds the distinction of main eventing PPVs in 4 different decades, and not just 3. His first PPV main event was at Survivor Series 1989, where he was a part of The Ultimate Warriors facing The Heenan Family.

In the following decades, he has WrestleMania main events in each of them. He main evented WrestleMania 12 & 14 in the '90s, 'Mania 20 in 2000s, and 'Mania 26 in the 2010s. Shawn also main evented his last match ever at Crown Jewel 2018 where he teamed up with Triple H to face The Brothers of Destruction.

7 Triple H

Triple H World Championship

Triple H is among the wrestlers who have been at the top for the majority of their full-time careers. His PPV main event journey started at In Your House: No Way Out of Texas, where he was part of an eight-man non-sanctioned tag team match.

Triple H was at the top for a large chunk of the 2000s decade, which resulted in him main eventing many PPVs. In fact, he had a time period where he was basically at the top all the time, known as "The Reign of Terror". In the 2010s, he became a part-timer, but he managed a few main events, with the last one being at Crown Jewel 2018.

6 The Rock

The Rock had a short-lived career in WWE in comparison to most legends, but he made a massive impact in those few years. The first few months of his WWE career were forgettable, but he got a main event at Survivor Series 1998 against Mankind.

After that, The Rock's popularity exploded and he became a top star in the 2000s, main eventing WrestleMania 2000 and WrestleMania 17, among other PPVs. In the 2010s, The Rock didn't wrestle a lot, but apart from his match with Rowan, every match he wrestled was a PPV main event.

5 Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar Vs Randy Orton

Brock Lesnar has the reputation of not working enough dates and he doesn't wrestle often. However, whenever he wrestles a match, it is a high profile PPV match, which is why he makes this list without wrestling much.

Brock Lesnar's first main event came against The Rock at SummerSlam 2002, where he also won his first WWE Title. Lesnar left the company in 2004, and made his return in 2012 in the main event of Extreme Rules against John Cena. Lesnar kept being at the top of the World title scene and he has main evented Night Two of both 'Mania 36 and 38, against Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns respectively.

4 Randy Orton

Randy Orton has been around for a long time in WWE, and is still wrestling on a full-time basis. Orton's first PPV main event came soon after his debut in 2003 at the SummerSlam PPV, where he was a part of an Elimination Chamber match.

Orton had cemented himself as one of the top stars by the time we reached the 2010s, and thus main evented regular PPVs in that decade. He hasn't main evented many PPVs in the 2020s so far, but he managed to main event a few PPVs against the likes of Edge and Drew McIntyre.

3 Edge

Unlike most of the people on the list, Edge wasn't a top star from the start of his career, and wasn't in the main event scene on a regular basis for a long time. His first PPV main event was against Brock Lesnar at Rebellion 2002.

In the 2010s decade, Edge didn't have any singles main event, but he managed to be part of a few multi-man main events in the year 2010 at the PPVs Fatal 4-Way, SummerSlam and Night of Champions. He came back from his retirement in 2020, and had his first PPV main event against Randy Orton at Backlash in the same year. He then went on to main event Night 2 of WrestleMania 37 as well.

2 John Cena

John Cena WWE

John Cena dominated WWE during his time and was at the top of WWE for a long time, and was main eventing PPVs all the time. It took time for his first PPV main event, but he finally main evented one in 2005 against JBL at Judgement Day.

He then main evented several PPVs in the 2000s. He continued his domination at the top and main evented PPVs regularly in the 2010s as well. Cena has rarely wrestled in the 2020s, but he managed a PPV main event in 2021 against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.

1 Steve Austin

Steve Austin didn't have a very long career in WWE, but he did manage to achieve this feat narrowly. In 1997, he started main eventing PPVs as he main evented In Your House: Final Four against Bret Hart, The Undertaker and Vader.

By the time the 2000s decade started, Austin was among the two most popular wrestlers, and main evented PPVs left and right. He retired in 2003 and didn't wrestle a match for years, but he finally made his return in the Night 1 of WrestleMania 38 against Kevin Owens, which happened to be a main event.
