The In Your House concept began in 1995 when the WWE decided to offer a two-hour PPV at a lesser price compared to the Big 5 PPVs. At times, the In Your House PPV was used as a build-up to the bigger shows, but it also featured some significant matches.

Most of the In Your House events were a mixed bag. Some were really good shows with great matches, while other shows felt like a waste of money, even with the much cheaper price. There have been multiple great main events throughout In Your House history, but there have also been some main events that fans like to avoid to this day.
10 Stone Cold Steve Austin Vs. Mr. McMahon - In Your House: St. Valentine's Day Massacre
Steve Austin and Mr. McMahon had a well-documented rivalry during the Attitude Era, but they only had 1 PPV match, which took place at In Your House: St. Valentine's Day Massacre in a Steel Cage match with Stone Cold's WrestleMania title shot on the line.
The match wasn't bad by any means, but it was just a prolonged beatdown by Austin to Vince. There were some fun moments, with Austin trash-talking Vince after the Chairman took a huge bump through the announcers' table. Big Show made his WWE debut in this match, interfering on behalf of Vince, but Show ended up costing Vince the victory. Big Show had a great WWE career, but his debut was extremely weird. While this isn't a bad match, it still doesn't rank very highly when it comes to In Your House main events.
9 Stone Cold Steve Austin Vs. The Undertaker - In Your House: A Cold Day In Hell
Many fans forget that Steve Austin's first WWE Championship match on PPV came against The Undertaker at In Your House: Cold Day In Hell. Austin was in the midst of a personal rivalry against the Hart Foundation, so it felt that this match was being used as a way to further that rivalry instead of an intense WWE Championship match.

'Taker and Austin didn't mesh well in this match. Austin spent most of the bout working on 'Taker's leg, but the work on the leg felt boring since Austin wasn't a submission guy. They would have better matches in the future.
8 The Undertaker Vs. Goldust - In Your House: Beware Of Dog
Believe it or not, but The Undertaker actually challenged for the Intercontinental Championship at In Your House: Beware Of Dogagainst Goldust in a Casket match.
This was a pretty average Casket match. Goldust and The Undertaker never had any elite matches in their 1996 trilogy. Mankind interfered in the end by popping out of the casket and costing The Undertaker the victory.7 Bret Hart Vs. Sycho Sid - In Your House: It's Time
Sycho Sid had a lot of momentum towards the end of 1996. After winning the WWE Championship at Survivor Series 1996, Sid entered into a program with Bret Hart.

This was a forgettable match on a forgettable show. It featured some nice psychology with Bret targeting Sid's back to avoid his power moves, but it dragged down due to Sid's offense being kind of lame. Shawn was on commentary during the match and interfered in the finish by standing on the apron before Bret went running into him to allow Sid to win the match.
6 Stone Cold Steve Austin Vs. Kane Vs. The Undertaker - In Your House: Breakdown
Due to Vince McMahon's quest to make sure Steve Austin didn't carry the WWE Championship, a triple threat match was booked where Kane and The Undertaker couldn't pin each other, which created more of a handicap match dynamic for this encounter.
As expected, the match wasn't anything great with Undertaker and Kane wearing down Austin for prolonged periods of time. The finish was so lame with Kane and The Undertaker pinning Austin simultaneously. Austin ended up being stripped of the title and the WWE Championship would be vacated for over a month. Nothing to see in this match.
5 Diesel Vs. Sycho Sid - In Your House: The Lumberjacks
During Diesel's 1995 WWE Championship reign, he often had terrible matches against big men, and it was no exception at In Your House: The Lumberjacks against Sycho Sid.

There were heel and face lumberjacks who favored Sid and Diesel, respectively. The action in the ring was nothing to get excited about as the lumberjacks often interfered to build up toward Diesel vs. Mabel at SummerSlam. The finish felt flat as Diesel didn't even win with his finisher, but a big boot.
4 Stone Cold Steve Austin Vs. The Undertaker - In Your House: Rock Bottom
Towards the latter stages of 1998, The Undertaker was a vicious heel who was slowly transitioning into his Ministry of Darkness run. He entered a rivalry with Steve Austin that included truly bizarre segments, which included Undertaker trying to embalm Steve Austin.
Their match at In Your House: Rock Bottom was just a sloppy brawl. This began a trend of Buried Alive matches being extremely hard to sit through. The finish was super lame due to the backhoe operator taking forever to dump out the dirt.
3 Diesel Vs. Sycho Sid - In Your House 1
Diesel and Sycho Sid main evented the first edition of In Your House. This match was worse than their second match because Diesel and Sid had to do much more ring work, and they did not click at all.
Sid spent most of the match working on Diesel's back, and it was just brutal to sit through. To his credit, Diesel did sell the back really well. Both Sid and Diesel had better matches with small guys and most of the time they worked with another big guy, their matches would always stink up the joint. This one ended in disqualification, which made it even worse.
2 Diesel Vs. The British Bulldog - In Your House: Great White North
At this point in Diesel's WWE Championship reign, fans started getting bored of Diesel as the top guy in the company. The British Bulldog was a solid threat to Diesel's championship reign, but Diesel and the Bulldog had a match to forget at In Your House: Great White North.
The story of this match was all about Bulldog targeting Diesel's leg. The work on the leg was boring, and it didn't really get the crowd excited for Diesel's eventual comeback. The biggest pop of the match came when Jim Cornette hit a big elbow on Diesel's leg, which tells you all you need to know about how bad this match is. Bret Hart caused a disqualification finish, which made it feel like this match was being used as a way to build towards Bret Hart vs. Diesel at Survivor Series and Bret vs. Bulldog at the next In Your House event.
1 The Undertaker Vs. Kane - In Your House: Judgment Day
The Undertaker and Kane's love-hate relationship is one of the most iconic stories in WWE history, but they've had their fair share of stinkers over the years. At In Your House: Judgment Day, 'Taker and Kane battled it out for the vacant WWE Championship with Stone Cold Steve Austin as special guest referee.
It felt like 'Taker and Kane just took it easy on this night to prevent injuries that would ruin future storylines. They wrestled at a slow and methodical pace, in which the crowd displayed their disinterest by chanting "boring" multiple times throughout the match. The finish was lame as Austin refused to count pinfalls and the match randomly ended in a no-contest when both 'Taker and Kane were on their backs. Safe to say there's no reason to watch this, as it's clearly the worst main event in the history of In Your House events.
